Tension in the meeting room grew. You listened carefully to Official Han's report on the South. "Recently, there has been a riot. It seemed like people are causing violence because of lack of money and food. "
"How unfortunate," Seokjin said. "Her Majesty has everything she could. She had already sent extra support down there. Those people are just looking for a fight."
"Seokjin," you said sternly, "They are still our citizens."
"What do you suggest we do, your Majesty?" Official Han asked.
"We can send in troops to control the situation." someone in the crowd suggested. Everyone around him seemed to agree, nodding their heads in unison. Even Seokjin seemed to be considering the idea. You could see Namjoon was hesitant, he sat on the throne next to you. Though his title is King, most of the decisions have to go through you first. But you always asked him for advice.
"We cannot do that. It'll only further adds to their conception of the throne. We cannot implement fear." you said. Out of the corner of your eyes, you saw Namjoon nodding his head. "I think I should go there, to observe the situation."
The crowd gasped and Namjoon snapped his head to look at you. "Your Majesty, you can't possibly consider that. There had been many deaths due to violent, the supporters are practically holding the town hostage." Official Han stated.
"That's all the more reason I have to go." you said louder. "Nothing will get done if I just sit here and do nothing."
"But your safety, your Majesty."
"I will have the best bodyguards with me, won't I?" Hoseok and Yoongi nodded from their posts. They both had on poker faces, but you could tell they were nervous. Not about their skills, but of course for you safety. Namjoon said nothing. "Then that's settled, I'll head out there tomorrow and try to resolve the situation."
"Yes, your Majesty." the parliament said in unison and one by one, they left the room. Namjoon waited until the last man left to bolt out of the meeting room. You gingerly look at Seokjin, who shrugged his shoulders.
"Good luck, your Majesty." he said before leaving. Sope followed you back to your quarter, where Namjoon already was. He stood with his back facing the door, his shoulders looked especially wide right now. Your heart beated faster as you closed the doors to approach him. His hands were at his hips.
"Joonie?"
He stood still, chest puffing. He yelled out a little and undid his tie decisively. Then he turned to look at you. Your heart broke a little when you saw that his eyes were puffy.
"Namjoon." you said again, trying to reach for him.
"How could you do that?" he asked, stopping your hand from reaching him, he held it tight. Almost too tight.
"What do you mean?" you asked.
"Why did you suggest going there yourself when you know it's dangerous?" he asked loudly.
"This is my job. If I don't go, what will they think of me?" You yanked your hand from his grip, it was red.
"You could have sent Seokjin to go, or me, or literally anyone else. Why would you go there yourself, Y/N?"
"Stop yelling at me. I am the Queen of this country. I need to fix this problem for my people. You would have done this too if you were in my place."
He nodded. "Yes, of course I would. Because I can handle violent, I was trained to fight if need be. But you have no protection aside from Hoseok and Yoongi. What if something else happens to you?"
"Do you not trust me?"
"What?" he asked, sounding disappointed.
"You don't trust that I can do this because I'm a woman?" your voice broke as you said the sentence.
"Y/N, you know I didn't mean it like that. I'm just worried about your safety." He stepped closer. But at the same time, you took a step back. "Y/N."
"I might not have any martial arts training, and I might get myself killed. But I can't just sit here and do nothing when people in my country are suffering. I wish you could support me."
"Of course I support you, I just don't think this is a good idea."
"Sorry I can't live up to your expectations. But since you're so against going, you'll stay here then. And that's final."
"Y/N, stop being so ridiculous. Of course I'm coming."
"No, you're not. I'm sure you have a lot of work to do." You left him alone in the living room while you went to your shared room and locked the doors. You heard the doorknob jingling and Namjoon pounding the door.
"My love, please. I'm sorry, please let me see you." You ignored him as you started packing for the trip. Once you were done, the sun was already down. There was silent outside in the living room. Namjoon seemed to not be in the quarter at all. When you went outside, Yoongi was by the wall where he usually is. He glanced back at you.
"He's with the twins, don't worry." You nodded before going back inside. After you two got married, his family moved back in and so did the twins. They spent time here if they're not at school or at work. Dinner was already set up for you, you ate in silence and thought about what had happened. Maybe you were too hard on him, of course you knew he didn't mean it like that, but you did wish he would support your decision. Well, when he comes back later tonight, you'll apologize. You waited for hours, but Namjoon still hadn't return yet. Seokjin came in awhile back to tell you the schedule for tomorrow. You would have to leave early in the morning to get to the city on time. You did wish to see Namjoon before you leave, but he didn't come back.
The four of you decided to take the private jet, there's no need to cause a commotion at the airport. Though you somehow had a few fan sites already. No one really said anything on the plane. They could all sense that you were sad when Namjoon didn't show up to bid you goodbye. "It'll be okay." Hoseok had told you. You only nodded, not really believing that. Once the jet landed, the car arrived to take you to the official's house.
"Welcome to our home, your Majesty." he bowed along with his wife and their dozens of maids. You scanned the house, along with fine China and silverware, they had gold laced in the walls. You said nothing as you walked to the room designated for you. Seokjin also took noticed.
"Bring her Majesty all the documents you have along with all the accountings."
The official's eyes glazed over with fear. "But the Queen should be getting some rest. I will have the paperworks ready for later tonight."
"No need. I want to see it right now. Bring it to my room." you declared. "I'll make sure this corruption stops." you whispered that last part to yourself. But the boys nodded their head and grinned.
