After a nice dinner with her wife, Beca was on her way to Stacie's to pick up the model where the two of them would pay Miss Adelaide Beauchêne a visit. Beca was still fuming about Chloe losing her job and she refused to rest until it was fixed. Chloe was hesitant about Beca going and seeing the woman but she trusted her wife. Chloe wanted to go with her but Beca told the redhead that Stacie would go with her since the model was quite good at confronting reporters. She was a lot calmer when it came to things like that and Chloe thought that it made sense for Stacie to go. She trusted the two of them so she didn't worry too much about it. She worried a little but that's because it was Chloe and Chloe always worried about her wife, naturally.
The drive to Stacie's house wasn't long and Beca only had to wait a minute or so for the model to come out of her luxurious house and hop into Beca's car.
"Ready?" Beca checked.
"Yes, are you?"
"I've been ready ever since Theo told me about the rumours."
"Fair enough. You got the address?"
"Right here," Beca gave the model her phone.
"Okay. I'll direct you. Let's go."
Beca nodded then began to drive. It was dark and grim outside but that was one of the main reasons why the brunette wanted to go she liked the element of surprise and intimidation. She never did like doing things nicely if she didn't have to. Plus, this woman was on Beca's bad side so there was no way Beca was going to be completely civil with her.
"How's Chloe?" Stacie asked.
"Better. She's still upset but after spending the day with me at work and having fun mucking around with the soundboard and stuff, she was okay. It's going to take her a little to heal from this but she's good like that. She's a strong woman. I could only dream to be half as strong as her."
"You're not giving yourself enough credit, Becs. You're a very strong woman. That stuff with your dad... not many people could have got through that like you did and accepted him back into their lives either."
"That was only possible because I had Chloe."
"Yeah, but you still did it. I couldn't have."
"Count me lucky then."
Stacie laughed softly.
"What about you? How have you been? We haven't spoken in a bit."
"I've been well. Work has been a bit full on recently."
"Spoken to Tom recently?" She teased.
Stacie rolled her eyes. "No, he's back in Georgia now. I don't expect to hear from him. Not after what happened."
"I understand. That was pretty awkward."
"That's the understatement of the year. Note to self - never drink with your old school teachers."
Beca laughed. "I'm glad that's on your list, Stace."
"Oh, shut up, Mitchell, like you can talk."
"True. How far away are we now?"
"About five minutes. Turn left up here." Stacie pointed and Beca followed her directions and soon enough, they were out the front of a small unit.
The area wasn't the best and it wasn't a place anyone dared to venture at night by themselves but the places were cheap and that's all some people could afford.
"It doesn't look like she's home," Beca stated, noting the missing car in the driveway. "She's probably still at work. Jill said that her second job requires her to work until night."
