(Hannah's POV)
"We don't have to go..." I was holding Zach's hand while we sat in the car. We were in front of the destination for our double date.
Zach smiled lightly and kissed my hand. "Yes we do."
"Why? This is just a silly little game. We don't have to prove ourselves.." This time I was looking out the window, little water droplets were on the glass. For some weird reason California decided to rain in September, which was good since we didn't get much rain fall in the winter.
"Ready?" Zach unbuckled his seatbelt with his free hand.
"Please! I don't wanna go!" My head turned so I could look at him, the worried look on my face made him sigh.
"Please," I continued to beg, "we could do anything! Something! We could have sex!"
That got Zach's attention. "I'm intrigued..."
I bit my bottom lip and crossed my fingers.
"Nope. We're still going!" He got out of the car, walking over to my side and opening up the door.
I groaned and unbuckled my seatbelt before getting out of the car.
Zach grabbed my hand again, intertwining our fingers. "So I'm not going to get sex now?"
"Nope." I say simply.
"Wait, no I'm not getting sex or no that I am getting sex?"
"You figure it out."
We walked into the bowling alley to find Cameron and Sydney sitting on one of the benches waiting for us. Well, Sydney was sitting on Cameron's lap.
"Oh great." I mumbled. When Sydney saw my expression she planted a kiss on Cameron as if she was trying to make me jealous.
"So, uh, let's bowl!" Zach grabbed my hand and led us to the counter to rent out shoes.
It was a very predictable afternoon, Cameron creamed us! Zach was covering his face with his hands, I rub his back and say things to make him feel better. Even though he isn't that good at any kind of sport...ever.
"Hey, Zach! You did great!" Cameron said with a smile on his face, "just some friendly competition." Zach looked up at him and smiled. "Yeah, I got a great girl. That's all that matters to me."
Cameron's smile faded, he now looked serious. "Right, yeah." He made eye contact with me before walking away to Sydney. What was that all about?
Zach poked my cheek so I would look at him. When I looked over he kissed me.
(Cameron's POV)
I look over to see Zach and Hannah kissing. I felt a little jealousy boil up inside me, but I shouldn't. Why would I be jealous? I don't even like Hannah! Not anymore at least. The only girl for me is Sydney.
Hannah's hand rested on Zach's thigh and it moved closer and closer to his-
"Jesus Christ! You're in public!" I shouted at them. Everyone in the whole building was quiet and they were looking at me.
"Cameron can I talk to you?" Hannah said while getting up.
"Uh sure?" She grabbed my hand and led me to the janitors closet, closing the door and locking it after turning on the light.
"What the fuck was that all about!?" She began shouting.
"It's gross." I looked away trying to avoid any eye contact with her.
"That's a dumb reason. Admit it you're jealous!"
"What? Why the hell would I be jealous over someone who is obviously just using us! Why would I be jealous over a slut!"
Hannah rose her hand up to my face and slapped me. I held on to my cheek. That's probably gonna leave a mark. "Ow!"
"I am not a slut!"
"Oh it's just a coincidence that you like Zach, too!" We were both shouting, not caring if anybody could hear us.
"You're one to talk." She crossed her arms crossed her arms over her chest, glaring at me.
"Excuse me?" I rose an eyebrow.
"You kicked me out and dated my best friend because you got all broken hearted."
"I actually like Sydney!"
"And I actually like Zach." Hannah wasn't shouting anymore. Tears were in her eyes, she opened her mouth as if she was about to speak again.
"Well Sydney is smart, funny, beautiful, and we have a lot in common!"
Hannah just nodded and looked down. "I know."
"Hannah?" She looks up at me, a tear is about to stroll down her cheek.
"The thing is...Zach knows who I am. The real me. Not the superficial, dumb, high school version of myself. He moved past that and saw me in my worst. But he liked it. He liked who I really was."
"I got to know you!"
"No. No you didn't. The way I was around you was just a dumb, fake act. I wanted you to like me but I didn't want you to break all of my walls down. But I'm glad I didn't let you see who I really was, because you would've left me for Sydney anyway. Zach stayed. Zach knows about my parents, we were actually going to schedule a trip to see them in a few weeks. He knows me, Cameron. He took the time. That was all I could ask for. As long as I could remember people always left me for something better." She was crying now.
"Hannah please don't cry.." I bring her in for a hug and rub her back to comfort her.
"You didn't give me a chance..." She whispered in my ear. I nodded and kept rubbing her back. "I'm sorry...I'm so sorry Hannah.."
She pulls away from the hug and looked at me with her beautiful blue eyes. She was still in my arms. Our bodies were so close together. We both kept staring at each other in silence.
"Hannah I really am sorry." I apologize once again.
"It doesn't matter now. I wish the best for you two." She pushed me away and unlocked the door. I need to stop her. I can't lose her again!
My instincts took over me. I pushed her against the door and kissed her with all of the passion I had.
"You're fucking perfect to me..." I whisper before kissing her again.
