All I can do is cry. 'How can she think like that?' I don't know how long I've been crying, but my limbs and extremities are starting to tingle from hyperventilation and dehydration. I need water, but I cant talk and I can't seem to let go of Callie either.
'Calm down, Arizona! Damn it, just fucking calm down. It will all be fine! This will all blow over. It'll be fine.' I keep repeating those 5 statements, but they don't do anything to help. My breath is shaky, mostly from hyperventilating, and I can tell that Callie's even more worried now. I try to control my breathing, but I can't.
"Arizona? Baby?" Callie coos. "Hun, listen to my voice." She begins to sing, something in Spanish. I focus on her every word and eventually i can feel my breathing start to even back out. She continues to softly sing until I'm breathing normally again. My body still tingles, and as much as I don't want to let of of her I do, "water." I manage to rasp.
"Or course,Babe. I'll be right back," I nod and she leaves. I stare at the clock, 10:10. 'Ugh. The day's barely started and it's already shit.' I audibly sigh, and curl into a ball, hugging my knees to my chest.
Callie comes back in, with a bottle of Smart-Water. "I figured, with the lid it would be hard to spill." She softly smiles handing me the bottle.
"Thanks." I return her smile and sip at the water, not even bothering to uncurl myself.
She crawls back in bed beside me and kisses my forehead. "You wanna talk about it?"
I know I should, but I really don't wanna, so I shake my head.
"Babe.." She starts, and I look up at her, pleading for her not to push the topic right now. She sighs, "Okay. I'm here when you're ready." She kisses my forehead again. "I love you, Battleship."
I giggle at the use of her old nickname for me. "I love you more, Muse."
I shift to lay in her arms, and soon fall into much needed slumber.
--------
"Teds! Wait up!" I call after her. We're in gym, and have to run a mile. I don't mind running, it's actually my go-to activity, but today I really need to talk to Teddy. She speeds up. I sigh, and speed up. She knows I'm faster than her, so I don't see why she wastes her energy to try and get away.
When I finally catch up to her I smack her shoulder, "Whats wrong with you today?"
"Nothing. Just don't feel like talking." She says and speeds up even more.
She's being short with me, so obviously there's more to the story. I speed up and easily catch her. "You're lying to me Theodora." Her head snaps towards me, she hates it when people use her full name.
She sighs in frustration. "When were you going to tell me? Or weren't you ever gonna tell me?"
I'm confused. "What are you talking about?"
"It's sad that you don't trust me, We've been best friends for almost 5 years, and I had to find out for Cristina, of all people, that you're a lesbian."
"Oh.. that." I've wanted to tell her, I just didn't know how. "Teds..."
"I'm fine with it, really. Go be happy however you want. But I just need to know, am I going to get hit on?" she giggles.
I can't help but laugh, and have to slow my running down. Teddy drops back to continue running beside me. "You're safe Teds."
Shock covers her face and she puts her hand over her heart. "I'm hurt." She pouts, "Why not? I'm hot! I mean seriously, have you seen me?" She spins as she runs and almost falls in a hole.
"Too bad you aren't graceful." I laugh and she tries to bush me into a bush.
"Seriously? Why not?"
"Don't get me wrong Teds, you're attractive, but if anything were to go wrong.. I wouldn't lose a girlfriend, but my bestest friend in the whole world."
She smiles, "Awe. Understandable." *pause* "Wait!? Only attractive?!? Wow Zona! Jerk." She laughs and starts to sprint. We have about 100 yards left til the end of the run, so I break into a sprint also. I easily caught up to and passed her with about 50 yards left. I thought about slowing down, but decided to speed up instead. When I got to about 15 yards left I started to hear footsteps behind me, 'There's not way Teddy caught up.' I run faster and look look to my right to see the new girl, starting to pass me. 'Where the hell did she come from?' I push forward as fast as my legs will go, and we cross the finish line at the exact same time.
"Damn." i pant, looking at the new girl. "You're good. Where'd you even come from?"
"I've been behind you most of the run." She smirks.
"Ookaay. Creepy." I laugh, still trying to catch my breath.
Teddy jogs up to us, "Damn, Zona. She almost beat you."
"Thank you Captain Obvious." I remark punching her arm. "I'm Arizona Robbins, by the way. And this is Teddy Altman." I introduce.
"Maura Isles. I just moved here from Boston."
"Oh cool. I loved Boston." I smile, and she looks curiously at me. "I was an Military Brat. My dad just retired." I fill her in a little, but before the conversation continues Coach Hunt walks up to out little group.
"That was a good run you three." His Scottish accent is thick, and i see Teddy and Maura shiver when he speaks, I just giggle and reply, "Thanks. Maura here's pretty good. Is there still room on the cross country team for one more?" I ask, hoping for a yes. it would be nice to win state.
"I think we can find a spot, if she'd care to join us."
We all look at her with pleading eyes. "Sure, sounds fun." She smiles.
-------
I wake up, still in Callie's arms, and revel in the feeling. I feel a soft kiss on my neck, and shift my head to give her more access.
The kisses turn to nips and sucks, causing me to moan in satisfaction. 'How does she know just what to do?' I roll over in her arms, and capture her lips in mine. Her tongue swipes my bottom lip and I instantly grant her access. Tongues duel and soft moans leave both our mouths. I roll on top of her and start to kiss my way down her neck, but she grabs my chin and stops me. "What's wrong love?" I question.
"You can't use sex to hide from whatever happened, you know that right?"
"Shut up." I say and start to kiss her again, only to be stopped. "Ugh. I know Calliope. But right now, I don't want to talk. Unless I'm screaming your name." I wink seductively.
"Okay." she smirks, and flips us over so she's straddling me. Leaning down close to my ear she whispers, "Scream away."
