The Best Friend and the Husband

Chapter seventeen

Narrative POV
Madison got to the house fifteen minutes later. She was nervous and scared about telling her inlaws. She also realizes that she is showing a lot more. And so she finds a baggy sweat shirt in the car and puts it on before heading in. Madison greets her mother in law Liza. Liza has long dark brown wavy hair. She's got big black eyes and has the most beautiful smile and makes the best skillet.
After making small talk. Madison heads up stairs to take a shower. And she's relieved that Liza didn't notice or ask anything about her big sweater. As she gets out of the shower Russell shows up.
His mom is kind of annoyed that he's late. 
But he ignores her and runs up stairs to get away get away from all their questions. But he goes into Madison's room and she just got out of the shower and is still naked.
"Oh god Russell what are you doing up here?!?!"-Madison
"I was I don't know I was getting away from all the questions"-Russ
"Get out!"-Madison
"No I don't want to go back down there"-Russ
"Well go into Asheels room or something"-Madison
"Or I could just sit here and watch you get dressed"-Russ
"No go into the washroom and don't come out till I say"-Madison
"Fine, but you do look really hot right now"-Russ
"Russell we're separated"- Madison
"You're still my wife and just because we're separated doesn't mean I can't complement you"-Russ
"Oh my god I left the divorce papers on the counter"-Madison
"Seriously Madison?"-Russ
And just as Russell finishes his sentence Liza yells up stairs asking what the papers were on the counter. So Madison quickly gets dressed and they both run down stairs. And are frantically thinking of an excuse to tell her. When they get down there Liza is holding the papers and is about to flip through the pages until Russell stops her.
"Russell what is going on?"-Liza
"Uh there is something we need to tell you................Madison and I are getting divorced."-Russ
"Oh my god, what the hell did you do Russell?"- Liza
"Why do you always assume it was me"-Russ
"Because you've made some dumb choices in the past"- Liza
" well first of all Russell cheated on me with my best friend and second of all he got her pregnant with triplets and lastly she's in the hospital because she just gave birth to them like 20 minutes ago"- Madison
" Russell Robinson why did you do your beautiful intelligent wife like that? Hmm. Oh my God please don't tell me it was Sarah. Oh gosh it is her isn't it. I don't like Sarah I mean she has such a Bitchy attitude it's so annoying and I don't even know why Madison was friends with her"- Liza
" i'm sorry mom I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner I mean we separated two months ago I don't know maybe three months ago  I regret everything I did to Madison and to Asheel I know it's been hard on both of them."- Russ
" you're now telling me nine months later that I have three more grandchildren At the hospital right now? Me and your father are  so disappointed in you"- Liza
Meanwhile Russell senior and Asheel are enjoying their pancakes and not even paying attention to what going on.
"Yeah maybe but there is a bright side to this"-Russ
"Oh really enlighten us then"-Madison
"Well earlier before I left the hospital Sarah said that I may or may not be the father of the triplets"- Russ
"And you didn't care to tell me this when we were upstairs, why did she do this to you? and why not tell you before?And you seriously didn't suspect that earlier?"-Madison
"She said something about me being a good father and that she thought I was hers. And I don't know why she didn't
tell me before. And no i guess I'm pretty stupid not to suspect anything"- Russ
Madison was tired of arguing with Russell. So she walked away and through her hands in surrender and proceeded into the kitchen to grab some pancakes, bacon ,and eggs. Then went to sit next to Asheel. She realizes that they hadn't told them she was pregnant but didn't want to be the one to tell them. The three of them sat there in silence eating while Liza was still yelling and asking Russ about the triplets. 
A few minutes later things seemed to Have calmed down and they came and sat at the table.
Russell's eyes were wondering around the table but stopping at his soon to be ex wife. He Studied her silky skin and her beautiful shiny hair but something catches his eye... her left hand. He notices right away that she isn't wearing her wedding ring. And his heart breaks a little more. He realizes that she will never go back to him and that she is done.
Madison notices what Russell is staring at. And she remembers that she took off her wedding ring last week. She didn't want to be reminded of her failed marriage. Madison pulls her hand off the table and glances over at Russell and shot him an icy look. Russell knew she wanted him to tell his parents the rest. So he cleared his throat and hesitated for a second
"So uhh mom dad there is something else we need to tell you"
Silence
"Madison and I are expecting another child"
Liza shot up from her chair and ran over to Madison to give her a hug almost in tears. Russell Sr said congratulations but wasn't even aware of everything else that was going on between them but surely later on Liza would fill him.
"So that explains the baggy sweatshirt you had on"- Liza
Madison just smiles and nods. She gets up to grab the ultrasound out of her purse to show them
"I had an appointment this morning and Ash didn't want to come so that's why I called you."
Madison was happy that all the people she loved most knew the exciting news. But she still didn't know if she wanted to go and see her father, and give a life update and tell him the news  But that would mean going home and she didn't know if she was up to that just yet. She also wanted her family to meet Asheel.
Later that day Madison called her mother to ask if everyone would come to asheels birthday that weekend. she insisted that they all stay with her. She also called her dad and he agreed but said that he would stay in a hotel
