Thursday morning Madison and Asheel went to the store to pick up decorations for the birthday. Asheel picked a unicorn theme party. Madison seemed to be more excited than Ash was. It could of been because her family was coming or because she loved seeing her Little girl have the time of her life. Or maybe a mixture of both.
Later that day Madison started cleaning up the house because she knew if her mom saw it right now she would criticize and then go pick up a broom and start sweeping, then next thing she knew she was sorting her clothes and rearranging her cupboards. After awhile Russ came by to pick up Asheel for the night. He was currently staying at the Marriott downtown Robson St. He had asked to stay at her house. As much as she wanted him to, she told him it probably was a horrible idea and he would most likely end up in her bed. And she was already emotionally drained. She kept thinking about what would happen if she took him back. It would be better for Asheel and the baby to have him there but she wasn't ready for him to be back. She knows they would go back to having no communication skills, not sleeping in the same bed, both of them staying at work late to avoid each other, Back to drinking just so they could stand each other, leaving Asheel with Janice. She knew she would go back to having her heart shatter into a million pieces.
Madison didn't want to go through that again. She didn't want to go back to that dark place.
She finished cleaning around 11:30 pm. She had nice hot soak in the tub. Then got ready for bed.
Next morning
Madisons' internal clock had her up at 6:00. So she laid in bed for about an hour wondering what today was going to be like. She got up and made herself a cup of coffee, sat on the deck and watched the sun come up while lost in her thoughts, not knowing how long she was sitting there she was interrupted by a text from Kayla
'Yo,We are going to be on the 3:30' ferry'
Madison
'okay see you soon'Madison called Russell to let him know. And to tell him to have Ash back by 4 o'clock.
After she got off the phone she got ready for her day. And went grocery shopping. When she got back she got a call from Curtis her father saying that he is already in town and will see her tomorrow at the party.
Talking to him made her nervous. But she asked if they could meet for lunch downtown before everyone came.
At the cafe
Madison got there before her father and got them a table. She seen him coming across the street and a smile crept on her lips. She hadn't seen her dad for quite some time and it gave her tears in her eyes but she quickly wiped them away before he sat down.
"Hey dad"
"Hey Madison how are you? I've sure missed you"
"I'm doing great. I've missed you too"
"So I heard I have a granddaughter?"
"Yeah you do her names Asheel"
"Oh wow can I see a picture of her"
Madison pulled out her phone and showed him a picture of Asheel in a black and pink hoodie that said 'papas girl'. Madison noticed that he had shed some tears
"She's got your smile baby"
"Yeah I try to tell her story's about you and mom every night. I showed her the picture of you in the Batman costume and she laughed and said she wanted dress up like you on Halloween"
"Oh wow that just warms my heart"
"Oh and dad? I'm expecting again"
Curtis started crying and told her how happy he was for her. And that he's so very sorry he didn't go to her wedding. And that he will visit more and more so he can get to know asheel. He also told her that he himself got married to his girlfriend a few years back. And Madison told him she was happy if he was happy. Then they payed and he took her shopping just like they used to because her mom never really liked it. Madison went home feeling very happy.
