Chapter 14

We went outside, closed the door, and I took off my helmet. "That was really weird." Angel said, looking at me. "Yeah well I don't want him to know it was me. Katania is scared because of him. When he is better again, he is leaving. Is that okay with you?" I asked, looking at Angel. "Sure thing. I understand that you're worried about Katania. He'll be better in a couple days so I'll have him leave then. But for now I have to get back to him before he does something stupid." Angel said, walking towards the door. "Good luck." I said, walking back to my house. I went inside, changed into my lord armor, left my cloak on the chair and went outside and outback to check on the children. "Hi mom!" The kids said, looking up at me. "Hi kids. Do any of you know where your father is?" I asked, looking at them. "He is working on the last part of the wall, where the new entrance is going to be." Seth said, looking at me. "Okay. Thank you. I'll see you kids later." I said, as they went back to playing. I went to where the new entrance to the capitol will be and saw Jace working. "Need any help?" I asked, looking up at Jace. "Do you think you could use some of your magic to lift those bricks up here?" Jace asked, looking at me. "I have to go get my staff but sure. I can do that. I'll be right back." I said, walking towards the house. I went inside, grabbed my orb and made my staff appear. I put my orb away and went back over to Jace. I made the staff and pile of bricks glow and levitated them up to Jace. "Thanks." He said, putting the bricks in place. After he finished, I levitated the extra bricks back down to the pile and walked up the stairs in one of the towers. I then tied my staff to my back and walked over to Jace. "How does it look?" Jace asked, wrapping his arm around me. "It looks amazing." I said, putting my head on his shoulder. We walked down to the new entrance. I pulled my staff off my back and took down the shield. Grayson and Mya came over to us. "The walls and entrance look great." Mya said, looking at us. "Thanks." Jace said, smiling. "I'll have the two new guards, Andrea and Adira, come guard the gate. Be warned they are both twins and their name means "strong". It's kind of cool." Mya said, just before walking off. "Wait Andrea and Adira? As in the two demigods?" I said, looking at Grayson. "Yeah. Do you know them?" Grayson asked, looking at me. "Yeah... When they turned fourteen they tried to take the Queen of all dimensions crown. So just don't tell them that I am the queen please. I don't really want a repeat of what happened." I said, looking at Grayson. "Uh, yeah, sure thing." Grayson said, as we waited for Adira, Andrea, and Mya When they got here, Adira and Andrea didn't seem to notice the it was me. Then I remembered that I changed my appearance. "Hi. You must be the Lord. Am I correct?" Adira asked, looking at me. "Yeah." I said, a little nervous. "It's nice to finally meet you then, Lord Katherine." Andrea said, looking at me. "Nice to meet you too." I said, looking at them. "Huh?" Adira looked at me closely. "Wait a second. Your Princess Stacey Faith Domencia, the first princess of all dimensions!" Adira said, looking at me. A bright light flashed in front of me and I went flying into the forest. "Kat!" Jace said, running after me. I ended up hitting my back on a tree and landing on the ground. Jace ran over to me and knelt down next to me. I slowly sat up when my back started to hurt. "Oow." I said, leaning against a tree. "Are you okay?" Jace asked, looking at me. I nodded my head slowly then felt a sharp pain in my back. I shook my head no. "Let's get you back so you can rest." Jace said, helping me up. Jace helped me walk. When we got back to the capitol Adira and Andrea were staring at me and Jace. Jace glared at them as we walked past them and to our house. We went inside and Jace helped me up the stairs and into my room. He helped me onto my bed then covered me with a blanket. "Get your rest. I'll keep an eye on everyone in the capitol." Jace said, just before walking out of the room and closing the door. I fell asleep after a few minutes. I ended up moving in my sleep and waking myself up. I held a pillow to my back and leaned up against the wall. My eyes flashed white then went back to normal. I shook my head and grabbed the book off the stand by my bed. I started reading the book while keeping my back straight. I noticed light shining through my bedroom window. I looked out the window and saw a forest fire. I quickly got up and felt a sharp pain in my back. I screamed a little as my back started to hurt even more. I ignored it grabbed out my blue orb and opened the window. I made my blue orb glow and the fire got put out with water. I put my orb back in my bag, closed the window, and laid back down on the bed. I eventually fell asleep half an hour to an hour later. My ears twitched as I woke up and heard a noise. "Sorry to wake you Katherine. Angel wanted me to drop off a potion to heal your back a little. Jace had to keep guard so he asked me to do it. Is that okay?" Mya asked, looking at me. "Yeah. That's fine." I said, sitting up slowly. "Here." Mya handed me the potion. "Angel said it should speed up the healing process of your back. She also said that your back will be healed by tomorrow so just stay in bed and rest." Mya said, just before walking out of my room and closing the door. I drank the potion and went back to bed. I ended up waking up at midnight. I looked out the window and the stars twinkled. I noticed the moon was almost full which meant tomorrow would be a full moon. I have to warn Katania about it when it turns day. I laid in my bed and started daydreaming. I popped back to reality when Jace walked into my room. "Hi Kat. How's your back?" Jace asked, sitting at the foot of the bed. "It's doing better." I said, smiling a little. "You do know that you can change your ears and tail back to a vulpini's now since Adira and Andrea know it's you." Jace said, staring to laugh. "I didn't even realize they were still a meif'wa's ears and tail." I said, laughing. My ears and tail changed back to a vulpini's. "Could you ask Katania to come here please? I need to talk to her in private." I said, looking at Jace. "Sure thing." Jace said, just before walking off. A few minutes later Katania came into my room. She closed the door behind her and she sat at the end of my bed. "You wanted to talk to me mom?" Katania said, looking at me. "Yes. I wanted to warn you that there's a full moon tonight. Stay out of the moonlight and don't look at the moon or it's reflection." I said, looking at her. "Why? What'll happen if I look at the full moon?" Katania asked, looking at me. "I... I don't want to talk about what will happen. Just know that if you do then something bad will happen. Promise me you won't look at the moon or it's reflection tonight." I said, looking at her. "I promise mom." Katania said, hugging me. I hugged her back and smiled. "Thank you Katania." I said, just before she left my room and closed the door. I sat on my bed and read a book. It was about an hour later when Angel came into my room. "How's your back Kat?" Angel asked, looking at me. "It's doing better. Thanks for the potion by the way." I said, looking at her. "No problem. Do you want to try to walk? Your back should be healed by now." Angel said, walking over to me. I nodded my head and slowly stood up. Angel helped me stand up straight. "My back doesn't seem to be hurting anymore." I said, smiling and looking at Angel. "That's good. Why don't you get changed and meet me downstairs. We can walk around the capitol and check up on everyone." Angel said, just before heading out the door. I grabbed a dress out of my closet and changed into it. I put my Lord armor in the closet and put my cloak on over my dress. All my orbs were still inside it. I went downstairs and over to Angel. "Are you ready to go?" She asked, looking at me. I nodded my head and we went out the front door. We went around the capitol and checked up on everyone. We started to head to the entrance of the capitol when Angel stopped in her tracks. I stopped next to her and looked at her. "Oh. I forgot to tell you that Jason left the capitol a while ago. So you don't have to worry about him anymore." Angel said, looking at me. "Okay. Thanks for telling me." I said, looking at Angel. We walked to the entrance of the capitol. "Hi Jace. How are you doing?" I asked, smiling. Jace turned around, ran over, and hugged me. "How's your back?" Jace asked, letting go of me. "It's all healed now." I smiled. "You forgot to answer my question though." I laughed. "How are you doing?" I asked, looking at him. "I'm doing well. Sorry I just got excited when I saw you were up and about." Jace said, laughing. "It's okay." I said, laughing as well. My ears twitched when I heard footsteps. Me eyes darted behind Jace as a man walked up to the entrance. I pulled Jace behind me and grabbed my staff off my back as I realized who it was. "Essence!" I yelled, running up and attacking him. He blocked my attack. "What's wrong Light? Thought you could get rid of me?" He said, mocking me. "Your never gonna be able to take my daughter from me so just leave us alone!" I said, holding my staff against his. "She isn't just your daughter. She's mine too!" He said, pushing on my staff causing me to almost fall. I stood my ground and made my orb appear that had clouds in it. "Quit trying to send me to another dimension. You know that won't work." Essence said, pulling out his half red half black orb. I looked over my shoulder at Jace. "Get Katania and tell her to bring all her orbs." I whispered, looking at him. Jace nodded his head and ran off. I looked back at Essence and ran towards him. I pushed him away from the entrance to the capitol. I kept pushing him back until there was enough space for me to put a shield around it. I made my staff glow and put a shield up around the capitol. My ears twitched when I heard Katania's voice. She ran over and stood next to me. "Are you ready to transform?" She asked, looking at me. "I'm gonna use my real name so don't freak out." I whispered, changing my appearance. "Okay." Katania said, looking at me. "Light Faith Domencia, Queen Of All Dimensions." I said, transforming. "Katania Flair Domencia, Princess Of All DImensions." She said, transforming. I turned my rainbow staff into a ring, put it on, opened a portal behind Essence, put that orb away, then Katania made a staff appear that matched her crown. I made a staff appear that matched mine. "Trying to ban me using all your strength? How pathetic." Essence said, attacking me. "Katania. Teleport Adira and Andrea here. They can help." I said, pushing Essence away from us. "Okay mom." She said, glowing. I flew up and Essence flew up after me. We fought in the air until Katania teleported Adira and Andrea here. I trapped Essence in a bubble and I flew down to them. "Can you guys keep Essence distracted while Katania and I build up all our magic to lock Essence in the shadow dimension?" I asked, looking at them. "Of course." Adira said, looking at me. "Thank you." I said, looking at them. Essence broke the bubble I trapped him in. I looked at them and nodded my head. They transformed and flew up and kept him distracted. Katania and I started building up all of our powers. When we were ready I linked minds with Adira and Andrea and told them. They said okay and flew down and got him in front of the portal. I closed the mind link and looked at Essence. Adira and Andrea quickly flew behind us. "Essence you are now locked away in the Shadow Dimension!" I said, just before me and Katania released all of our powers on him. It pushed him into the portal then the portal disappeared. I looked at Adira, Andrea, and Katania and smiled. We all de-transformed and walked back over to the entrance to the capitol. I put the shield down and we all went inside. Jace ran over and hugged me and Katania. "What was that for?" I asked, starting to laugh. "I got worried you might of gotten yourselves hurt." Jace said, looking at us. "Seriously Jace? We can handle ourselves." I said, smiling. "Hey mom." I looked at Katania. "Can I show you something?" She asked, looking at me. "Sure." I said, as she grabbed my hand. "I'll see you guys later." I said, following Katania. We went to our house and to the backyard. Katania showed me a dying flower. "Katania?" I said, looking at her. She smiled and kneeled down by the dying flower. Katania held her hands over it and the flower glowed. The flower slowly started getting color and looking more alive than it was dead. "Katania.You have my healing powers." I said, hugging her. "I do?" Katania said, looking at me. I nodded my head yes. "When you were born I thought I lost them during a fight or something but it turns out that you got my healing powers instead. I'm so happy for you." I said, smiling. Katania smiled and hugged me tight. "Hey mom." I looked at her. "Could you train me to use my powers more?" Katania asked, looking at me. "Of course. I have an idea of where we can train." I said, pulling out my teleportation orb. "Hold my hand and I'll teleport us there." I said, holding out my hand. Katania nodded her head and grabbed my hand. "Clouds." i whispered, so Katania couldn't hear. The orb glowed and we teleported up to the clouds. "Are we on a cloud?!" Katania asked, looking under her feet. "Yup. I thought you would like it because you like looking at them so why not try and walk on them. It's actually part of your training. Transform and make your wings show just in case you can't keep your balance. You don't want to fall through." I said, looking at her. "Okay mom. Katania Flair Domencia, Princess Of All Dimensions." Katania said, transforming. She made her wings appear and I let go of her hand and let her practice walking around. "I'm doing it!" Katania said, walking around. Katania did a cartwheel then she slipped and started falling through. I quickly grabbed her hand and pulled her up to her feet. "You have to have complete concentration. After you can completely stay on top of the clouds while concentrating then we can talk about doing things other than walking on clouds." I said, letting go of her hand. She nodded her head then continued walking around. When she got the hang of it the sun started to set. Katania grabbed my hand and we teleported down to the ground. She de-transformed and quickly went inside the house. "Help me cover all the windows and close all the blinds." I said, closing the door. "On it." Katania said, running upstairs. I went through the downstairs and closed all the blinds and covered all the windows. Katania came back downstairs and walked over to me. "I finished upstairs." Katania said, looking at me. "Okay. Just avoid touching water and we should be good." I said, as Jace came inside. He closed the door behind him and noticed all the windows were covered. "Why are all the blinds closed?" Jace asked, looking at us. "I'll tell you why tomorrow but right now just don't open any of the blinds near us." I said, looking at him. "Umm okay." Jace said, looking at us. "Katania. Grab a bowl of water and follow me upstairs." I said, looking at her. She nodded her head and went over to the sink. I walked upstairs and into my room. Katania came up a few seconds later. She came in and closed the door behind her. I made a ball of light appear and float above the bed. "I want to teach you how to control the water like I can." I said, as Katania sat on the bed and carefully put the bowl of water on the bed in between us. I started moving the water up and out of the bowl. I made it turn into a ball and then I put it back in the bowl. "Now you try." I said, looking at her. Katania made the water move out of the bowl and it started to shake. "Concentrate." I said, looking at her. The water stopped shaking and formed a ball then she put it back in the bowl. "Good job. Now something a little harder." I said, making the water float. I formed a ball then made it turn into a long thin strand and move around the inside of the room. I put the water back in the bowl and looked at Katania. She nodded her head and did the same exact thing. When the water landed back in the bowl I smiled. "Now there is two more things I need to teach you and we have to both do it with half the water each." I said, looking at her. Katania nodded her head as I made half the water leave the bowl. Katania did the same. I showed Katania what to do and she copied me. I froze the water in mid air as it was in the form of a snake. Katania did the same. I unfroze the water and then made it go above us. Katania did the same and we both looked up at the water. I heated mine up and it popped and turned into thin air. Katania did the same thing and I hugged her. "Good job." I said, smiling. My ears twitched when I heard someone's heart beat. I looked behind Katania and saw Jace staring at us shocked. "I-i..." I stuttered, looking at Jace. "I can explain!" I said, as tears started rolling down my face. "Just go to bed. You can explain it tomorrow." Jace said, just before walking off to his room. "Katania." She looked at me. "If you want to you can sleep in here with me. If you wake up in the middle of the night and not realize it's still night then..." I looked away from her. "Then it won't be good if you see the moon." I said, wiping away the tears. "Okay." Katania said, laying down next to me. I laid down and a few minutes later we both fell asleep. I woke up in the middle of the night to see the shade starting to fall off the window. I quickly got up and covered the window without looking at the moon. I looked back at the bed and Katania was fast asleep. I sighed and went back over to the bed and went to sleep. I woke up to notice that it was eight in the morning. I looked at Katania and she was just waking up. "Morning." I said, smiling. "Morning mom. By the looks of it, we managed to not look at the moon or it's reflection." She said, yawning. "Yup. I'm proud of you Katania. You managed to resist the moon's calling all night." I said, getting up. I walked over to the window and started taking down the blanket that was covering it. "Thanks mom. I was actually trying my hardest to resist it. I don't know how you manage to do it." She said, looking at me. I finished taking down the blanket. "Since you managed to resist the calling then you'll be able to go in the full moon's light without it affecting you as badly. There's a special place where we can go the next time there's a full moon." I said, looking at her. "Okay. I can't wait." She said, smiling. We went all throughout the house and took down all the covers and opened the blinds. "Can you explain to me why all the windows were covered now?" Jace asked, walking over to me. I sighed and turned around and looked at him. "You might want to sit down for this." I said, looking at him. Jace sat on the couch and looked at me. I explained everything to Jace about me and Katania being mermaids and Jason being a merman and how a mermaid has to avoid their first full moon's light or else something bad will happen. I also explained to him how I am able to control water, freeze water, and heat water. "Were you and Katania born as a mermaid or were you cursed?" Jace asked, looking at me. "I was born as one and so was Kaania." I said, looking at Jace. "Wow. So there's cursed mermaids and born ones. What about siren's? Are they real as well?" Jace asked, looking at me. I nodded my head. "I am a siren. I'm only half though. Katania is a full mermaid." I said, looking at him. "Is it true that Sirens lure people to the water and trap them on and island?" Jace asked, looking at me. I looked at the floor. "Oh my Queen Light- eer sorry." Jace said, looking at me. "It's okay. And yes... It's true that Sirens lure people to the water and trap them on an island but that's only when a Siren is in the full moon's light for the very first time when they turn of age to get their tail." I said, still looking at the ground. "Is that what happened to you? Did you do that when you first turned of age?" Jace asked, looking at me. I nodded my head slowly. "Yes. I did it to my own father. My real father. I didn't know I did it until the next day. I was just glad that he didn't... die..." I said, as tears started forming. "I'm so sorry." Jace said, hugging me. I hugged him back. "Hey mom, can we go train?" Katania asked, walking down the stairs. I let go of Jace and looked at Katania. "Yeah sure." I said, pulling out my teleportation orb. "Hey Jace. If you need me just say Light three times. It will make my orb glow and I'll teleport straight to you. Okay?" I asked, looking at him. "I'll only do it if needed to." Jace said, looking at us. "Thank you." I said, just before walking outside with Katania. "Clouds." I whispered, into the orb. The orb glowed and we teleported up to the clouds. Katania managed o walk around this time without being in her princess form. I was proud of her. "Okay so since you managed to do it, we can practice fighting on the clouds." I said, smiling. "Okay." Katania said, looking at me. I made two swords appear. "Choose one. This is a test of your knowledge. You can either choose the sword on your right which is a new sword or you can choose the one on your left which is a old sword. The choice you make will show in the fight." I said, looking at her. She nodded her head and grabbed the sword to her right which was the new sword. I grabbed the old sword and looked at Katania. "Ready?" I asked, looking at her. Katania nodded her head. She went to attack me with the sword. I dodged it and sliced the blade of the new sword. It broke in two and the top got stuck in the cloud. "How did you win?" Katania asked, looking at me. "You chose the new sword, it's pretty but it's not meant to be used in a fight. On the other hand, the old sword is. It may look chipped and old but it can last much longer in a fight than the new one can." I said, looking at her. I made the new sword go back together then I made the two swords disappear. I made two new swords appear that had the same strength and durability. Katania and I continued training with the swords until it started to get dark. I made the two swords disappear. "Time to head back down." I said, pulling out my teleportation orb. "Okay." Katania said, running over to me. We teleported back down to the ground and I put my orb away. We went inside, ate dinner, then went straight to bed. (A year passed and Katania and I still go up to the clouds and train. It was the day of the first solar eclipse in almost thirteen years... Let's get back to the story.) "Katania." Katania looked at me. "Tonight is a solar eclipse. That means we get to go to the secret place in our mermaid forms." I said, looking at her. "Yay." Katania said, dropping the sword onto the clouds, running over, and hugging me. I smiled and hugged her back. "Tonight will be a little hard for you since it's your first solar eclipse. All I ask is for you to be careful." I said, looking at her. "I will, besides,I'll be with you." Katania said, smiling. I smiled then we went back to training. Katania was able to run on the clouds while holding a sword. I was very proud of her. At this rate she would be able to fight anywhere in or out of her princess form. "Katania." She looked at me. "I want you to try to do something. It might be a little hard and I don't expect you to get it straight away. I want you to run towards me, holding your sword, and transforming at the same time. Can you do that?" I asked, making my sword appear.Katania nodded her head. She ran at me, holding her sword while trying to transform. When Katania hit hr sword against mine she was not in her princess form. "Try again and this time, picture it in your head, then do it." I said, holding my sword steady. She nodded her head and walked back over to where she was standing before. She looked at me and I nodded my head. Katania ran towards me, holding her sword and when she hit her sword against mine, she was in her princess form. "I did it!" Katania said, smiling. "Good job. I'm proud of you." I said, looking at Katania. The wind blew and I could hear whispering. My vulpini ears twitched. "Light, Light, Light." Jace's voice echoed through the wind. I pulled out my half pink, half light blue orb with the stars in it. The orb was glowing. "Katania, go to the front gate and warn the guards that Jace is in trouble. After you do that, stay there and wait for me. I have to help him. If anyone creepy or dangerous tries to enter the capitol, trap them in a bubble." I said, looking at her. Katania nodded her head and flew down to the ground. I transformed into my Queen Of All Dimensions form, using my real name. (By the way. If you forgot what she looks like in her real form, she has half pink, half light blue hair, with stars braided into it, she has a long light blue and pink dress with stars on it, and her grown has pink and light blue stars and gems on it... Back to the story.) I put my orb away and pulled out my teleportation orb. "Teleport me to Jace." I whispered, looking at the orb. It glowed and teleported me to him. I looked up and saw Jace was surrounded by Shadow Souls. I put my orb away, grabbed my ring, and turned it into my staff. "Leave him alone!" I said, charging at the Shadow Souls. They all ran towards me as I ran at them. My eyes glowed as I attacked each one of the Shadow Souls. "Jace. Run!" I yelled, pushing the Shadow Souls away from me. Jace ran towards the village. I continued fighting the Shadow Souls but it seemed as if they were immune to my magic. My magic made them a little weak but that's it. I couldn't figure out why my magic wasn't working. One of the Shadow Souls snuck up behind me and knocked me down to the ground and I screamed. The Shadow Souls surrounded me and started whispering something. All of a sudden everything started getting blurry then it all went black.
