YuJin's P.O.V

"This never happened." He lowly whispered, his hand rapidly detaching from mine.

Ouch.

Though it was clearly too late, the whole class had witnessed it before their very eyes and it would be sure to spread like wildfire.

Great. Now I'm gonna have Jaebum's female dogs come after me.

-

SuMi was absent today due to being sick, and there was no way I'd eat lunch in the canteen where there was a higher risk of being attacked by Jaebum's devoted followers after the little stunt he had pulled in music.

Therefore, I made my way to the rooftop with my lunch, willing to take the risk of detention. However, as I approached the door that led to the rooftop, I heard voices.

Familiar ones. Followed by grunting and what sounded like someone wincing in pain, then came the yelling. I recognised that voice.

Jaebum.

I burst through the door which opened to a horrific scene. Jaebum was beating up Jimin, one of the sweetest souls in our school. Jinyoung and Jackson were holding him up for Jaebum whilst the rest of the boys simply stood there watching the scene unfold.

But what struck me most was Jaebum; I didn't know it was humanly possible to look so frightening and furious. He was seething with anger, fists clenched so tight I was afraid they'd burst before he threw a punch so hard and startling I jumped back.

& his eyes looked darker than ever, they were darker than black if possible, as though I was staring into the void of his soul. It gave me goosebumps as well as an electric chill coursing throughout my body.

Jimin's face meanwhile was bruised and battered, all shades of welts from red to purple to black were present on his entire body and face ; nothing but a bruised canvas.

I was frightened to say the least, I hadn't even realised I was shaking, but I knew I had to do something. I couldn't just stand here and watch when someone was being hurt like this.

"Let him go!" I yelled, praying my voice wouldn't come out as shaky as my body.

All eyes had turned to me. Jaebum's black darts shot right at me.

"Get lost." He growled lowly.

As much as I was horrified of him right now, I had to stand my ground.

"This is wrong. Let him go." I said softly, not daring to look up into his eyes.

The rest of the boys looked at me pitifully, almost as if they knew Jaebum was a whole different person right now.

He let out a low evil-like chuckle. I slowly looked up only to see him continuing to mercilessly beat Jimin to a pulp.

I had enough, I walked up to them and stood in front of Jimin, preparing for the punch to hit me.

His fist stopped inches away from my face, though I didn't dare flinch.

"Why are you doing this?" I ask, puzzled on what on Earth Park Jimin could do that was so bad he deserved to end up like this.

He dropped his fist, "He owes us money, it's his fault for getting involved with things that don't concern him, stop doing the same before you end up in trouble too." The low tone and seriousness in his voice startled me but I didn't cave in.

"Cmon Jimin, let's go." I turned around and helped him up, the poor thing seemed broken.

As I began to slowly walk away with Jimin, I felt an arm on mine and turned around to see Jaebum with no emotion in his eyes, as though he had discarded them on purpose.

"Let go." It came out much fiercer than I thought it would - though I still didn't dare to look him in the eyes.

"Why are you helping him?" he growled lowly, his tone as ice cold as ever.

"Because this is wrong. & I'm not going to stand here and watch." I say before finally managing to shake his grip off of me and carefully escorting Jimin to the nurse's office where he was treated.

-

"Thank you Noona." Jimin said after me continuously nagging at him to stay safe and asking if he wanted to walk with me after school to which he kindly declined, saying he'd go home via car. "I don't know what would've happened to me if you hadn't shown up." he said sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head.

I chuckled a little before ruffling his hair, over the past couple of hours I had grown fond of this kid, he was like the cute little brother I never had.

"Pabo-yah, did you really think I'd leave you there and let them continue to treat you like that?" I replied to which he grinned widely.

-

I realised it was very dark when I left school because I had stayed back for a long time whilst Jimin was at the nurse's office treating his wounds, ensuring that he was safe before we parted ways.

And last time I was alone in the dark it didn't exactly go well.

A low rumbling in the sky soon turned into a deafening crash as rain began pouring from above, only seeming to grow heavier by the second.

My dumbass put my hands over my head as though that'd protect me. I looked around me for a bus stop or any nearby shelter yet to no avail.

"What do I do?" I ask no one in particular, becoming more and more scared as the rain continues to get more and more heavier with every second that passes.

All of a sudden, the rain above my head seems to stop and I see a familiar pair of shoes stationed in front of me.

I look up to see Jaebum's face merely an inch away from mine, taking me by surprise as our noses were almost brushing, his hot breath fanning my skin, feeling almost tingly and magical against the harsh wind and rain.

He looked surreal, looking down at my small frame with his crescent eyes, holding a rich darkness in them, as though I was staring at an endless stretch of midnight sky as his eyelashes beautifully capture raindrops before they bounce right back off and trail down his carved face, tracing his chiselled jawline and dampening his pillow pink lips.

Simply looking at him made my breath get caught up in my throat, an electric feeling was sent jumping through my veins and it was though a whole zoo of butterflies had invaded my stomach.

"You bother me too much." He spoke softly, every so slightly inching forward causing our noses to brush against each other.

"W-what?" I whispered, utterly confused and caught in the trance that was Im Jaebum.

His eyes seemed to explore my entire face before landing on my lips and back up at my eyes.

"It's driving me crazy." He whispered softly. There was nothing at that moment I had wanted more than for the little gap between us to close. But he ran. He left me with the umbrella, pulled his hood up and ran, disappearing into the thick fog and mist of the rainy night.

Leaving me lost for words, he had once and for all turned my world and everything that made sense in it upside down.
