"Ken, do you want to do something? You've been staring at the TV for a minute now." Touka said, tapping Kaneki's broad shoulder. "H-huh? Um, so I was thinking maybe we could play some video games.." he said, raising his face to look at Touka's eyes gleaming. "Video games? Bring it on." she said, excited like a cat who spotted a bowl of milk near it.
"Did I tell you I was pretty good at video games, Ken? I won the most between my friends." Touka abruptly cut in while Kaneki was practically fighting with the numerous plugs and and electric wires behind the TV, trying to plug in the game controllers. "How do you do this?! NONE OF THEM FIT IN!" Kaneki shouted, annoyed at how the controllers wouldn't plug into any of the plugs behind the TV. "Uh.. did I not tell you after we moved out and got a new TV that this one plugs from this plug and not ones behind the TV?" Touka said, plugging in the controllers. "Oh."
Touka had lost the first round, and she thought, 'Ugh, my fingers aren't moving fast enough! I'll beat him once they're back like when me and Yoriko played in middle school!'. However, she didn't realize one thing- that Kaneki was just starting to warm up. His fingers were on the controller, four of his fingers trying to find balance while his two thumbs moved at the speed of light, attacking and defeating Touka within the first minute.
"How are you so good?" Touka looked at his thumbs' speed and asked, both out of jealousy that she had lost 10 whole rounds to Kaneki within a minute at most (the game was supposed to last at least 5 minutes), and also for the sake of her curiousity. "Ah that- when I was in middle school, this girl named Saiko Yonebayashi taught me some of her skills when we were playing games- me, Saiko and this other guy named Shirazu always played games after our study group session.
"Oh that's cool... I did play some video games with Yoriko when I was in middle school, but we were both really horrible, so we're still pretty bad. Still, I get excited about playing games."
"We now know one more thing about each other, huh?" "Yeah."
