Chapter 13 - Big Plans

With the S-Class trial wrapped up, all of us got on the boat and headed straight back to Hargeon to go back home to Magnolia, I couldn't believe that we were on that island for almost a week. The journey back home wasn't as rough as the journey to Tenrou, thanks to Porlyusica's mix of pills and medicinal herbs, my stomach could rest easy; the same couldn't be said for Laxus though, poor thing.

When we reached Magnolia, we went straight to the guild hall to greet everyone and see how they were getting on, after all, I wanted to see my yellow ball of fluff so badly. Me, Freed, Evergreen and Laxus walked over to Bickslow as everyone was settling down and reuniting.

"Hey Bickslow, how are you doing buddy?" Laxus asked.

"Not bad. How did the trial go?" Bickslow asked.

"No winners this year." Evergreen sighed.

"Jeez, that must've been one tough trial, although I was expecting Akari to burst through those doors as a certified S-Class wizard." Bickslow grinned.

"Yeah... it didn't quite work out this year." I said softly.

"I feel like there's something else you want to add there." Bickslow replied.

"We have some big news, very unexpected news actually." Laxus said.

"Seriously? What news could be bigger than the S-Class trial?" Bickslow questioned.

"Here's the headline, me and Laxus are having a baby." I smiled.

"What! No way man, that's awesome, congratulations." Bickslow said excitedly as he shook Laxus' hand and gave me a hug.

"I heard that!" A familiar voice exclaimed.

Behind Bickslow, flying towards us was Pika. Pika sat on Bickslow's shoulder as she looked at me with a serious face.

"Hey Pika, I'm so glad to see you again." I said with a huge smile.

"I'm glad to see you too, but what's with this pregnancy news, when did this happen exactly?" Pika questioned.

"Well, it's a long story, I only found out when I was on Tenrou and at that point I was about two weeks along." I replied.

"Oh. Wait, so this must've happened before Laxus left." Pika said.

"Yeah..." Laxus chuckled as he rubbed the back of his head.

"Pika, I have a confession to make." I sighed.

"What is it?" Pika asked with concern.

"You know that time when I asked you to have a sleepover with Happy since you wouldn't see him for two weeks." I replied.

"Yeah." Pika said.

"Well, I only did that so that me and Laxus could have some privacy. I'm really sorry." I apologised regretfully.

"Oh, I see how it is, you basically kicked me out of your house just so you could spend time with Laxus. What happened to mates before dates?" Pika asked.

"I know, but if that night didn't happen then I wouldn't be pregnant right now." I replied.

"What!!!" Pika exclaimed.

"It's fine we've sorted stuff out and everything." I reassured.

"I'm so happy for both of you." Pika cried with happiness as she flew over to me for a cuddle.

"Who would've thought that Akari and her cat were so alike." Bickslow commented.

"I know right." Laxus replied.
