Things were going to either go very wrong or very wrong.

Rowan just knew that if his fireheart was harmed by Maeve.

He decided he wanted a future not only for himself but the kids he saw in that vision years ago when Aelin was in that coffin box.

Aelin.

"Well, Prince-Sorry, Your Majesty, what brings you here?" Maeve drawled.

Rowan felt his temper rise then settle into the predatory calm.

"Where is she." Not a question. A command.

She stepped closer to Rowan. He could so easily plunge his blade into her stone heart and shatter it with the newfound strength he had coursing through his veins right now. But he needed to know where she was.

"Come with me," she dragged her finger down his arm, "and find out."

She turned around and launched herself into a tear.

Rowan looked behind him. He could still hear screaming, but nothing could convince him not to go to his mate.

And he didn't know if Maeve was lying or not.

But he was about to find out.

And he walked through the mist, and into that tear.
