'Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love.'

When you woke up, Ash wasn't in bed, so you got dressed into something comfy and put on a bit of make-up to cover up your blemishes. It turned out that everybody was already in the kitchen.

"Hey there, sleepy-head." Luke smiled at you with a look that made your insides melt.

You brushed a hand through your hair. "What time is it?"

"Oh, only about half one." Ash laughed, oblivious to the totally inappropriate crush you were developing on his best friend. Had you always thought of him like this? It certainly felt so.

"What? Why didn't anybody wake me up?!"

"Oh, you just looked so peaceful, y'know?" Michael laughed, it wasn't exactly a secret that you weren't a particularly angelic sleeper. You laughed with them, switched the radio on, and sat beside Luke. Your leg brushed against his and you could have sworn his cheeks went redder for a moment.

You took his coffee and looked at him sideways. "Can I finish this?"

"Sure."

--

The five of you took it in turns playing on your beloved mario kart in the living room. It was unfortunate for the others that you were naturally competitive, even in silly games.

"Oh my god, Mikey, you can't do that; you're cheating!" You whined, although he wasn't really doing anything wrong.

He nudged your shoulder and your kart swerved off the road. "Look what you've done!" You set down the controller and waited for Michael to win the race (which he did).

"You're just a sore loser." He laughed as he stood up.

"Where're you going?" You asked with furrowed brows.

"I'm going to do your shopping for you, seeing as you've got nothing worth eating in the house." He stuck his tongue out at you. "Anybody care to join me?"

Ash shrugged and stood up too. "Yeah alright; see you later, guys."

And they left. Calum wandered off to have a shower, but you and Luke kept playing.

"I swear (y/n), nobody's ever managed to beat me."

You scoffed. "Yeah right. We'll see about that."

You won the next three games by the skin of your teeth, Luke was still determind, though.

"You're cheating." He narrowed his eyes. "Nobody is that good."

"Oh Luke, what an awful mistake to make! I'm amazing at everything!"

"Okay, one more game, and if I lose again, you'll have to pay for it."

"Whatever." You grinned and selected the track; you won again, without any difficulty that time.

"Ha! You lose, Luke!"

"Oh, you'd better prepare for some sweet revenge!" He was laughing so you just kicked your shoes off and rested your feet on the coffee table.

Unexpectedly, Luke pounced on you, and attacked you with a wave of tickles. You shrieked and squirmed as his fingers danced upon your skin. You were laughing so hard that your breathing was quickly disjointed, so you attacked him back.

"You- can't- get- away- with- that- Hemmings." You breathed between giggles. He was laughing too.

"Okay! Oh my god." You began to squirm beneath him again. "You can stop now."

"Tell me I'm the best racer in the world!"

You shook your head. "Never!"

And so it continued for a short while. "Luke! Luke- Oh my god Luke; you're- an- awful- Mario Kart- driver, but you're- you're..."

He had stopped and was perched above you, silent now, listening. You wondered if he was waiting for you to tell him what was racing through your mind right now.

"But you're amazing at everything else! You could win a tickle fight any day, you're really talented, and all the girls love you!"

Luke shook his head and looked into your eyes. "I don't want 'all the girls'."

"Well, yeah, okay. Of course not, I'm sure just the one would suit you just fine, but..."

He shook his head, your heart was beating so fast, and you wished he would stop teasing you already.

"Okay... okay. Who do you want?" You thought you knew the answer. There was something about how he was looking at you.

"I'll show you." He murmured and you felt him leaning in towards your face, your lips parted and you could practically taste his minty breath hovering above you.

"Honey, I'm home!" Ash called joyously from the door way, and you tensed up immediately. You had a sharp intake of breath at the interruption and tried to compose yourself. In the same moment, Luke rolled off of you and onto the floor with a thud and you both had to refrain from laughing.

Ashton was talking about what they bought you, but you just kept glancing at Luke, wondering what would have happened if Ash hadn't appeared...
