One morning I woke
to the words that you spoke
so softly in my ear
You whispered with a sigh
that you'd always be mine
Oh how you complete me
Never once did I doubt you, dearest
You swore you'd forever be nearest
to my heart, that Summer day
We talked and I shied
from the thought that you lied
Who cares about her anyway?
I grew addicted to your scent
Your sweet taste, your warm touch - it was all meant
to be
Your smile was deceivingly charming
in ways that proved too harming
as I finally lost my place
I had drowned in your eyes
while you fucked another, just like every guy
The tides rushed over my head
Submerged in a wave of complacence
I threw away my patience
and left you like you left me
My body thrashed against the rocky shore
as the foam receded to reveal a door
and out walked my shadow
I stared into her eyes
God knows I've all but cried
and asked her for the courage to find peace.
