You've left me long ago
Yet I find myself thinking of you
And if you've been wondering,
Fireflies still scorch the night air like you loved
But the Spring isn't so sweet
without the sheer joy in your eyes
or the cries of your melodious laughter
in the downpour
If all the stars align as if to say goodbye,
I shall take to heart that you'll be alright
If a comet grazes the sky and I see your light,
then welcome me into your arms
I wake to the scent of fresh dew in the morning
which adorn fruits and young flowers
While the mists of mountains far
veil your sight from me
Clouds still meet pink horizons
from where you believed angels fell
And if you're not one now, I'll be damned
for thinking God could be so cruel
If all the stars align as if to say goodbye,
I shall take to heart that you'll be just fine
If a comet grazes the sky but I see no light,
then all that's settled will be your dust.
