Episode 21: Tension

Its been a week since Prompto started living in Noct's apartment. It'd only been a few days that they had known each other when that happened. In one week and a half, they had fallen hard for each other. One would say its not love. Love at first sight or in just a few days? Is it true?

Well apparently it was in this case. Before Noct took interest in Prompto,  before Noct stepped into his classroom. Prompto was working after school in order to keep living in the small apartment he would soon not afford. All he ate was rice balls or instant noodles. Until he couldn't afford paying the rent.

He had no one. His parents,  deceased, five years back from a terrible car accident which coincidently Noct's mom, her royal highness had passed away as well in the same event. Prompto had slept only two nights at the roof of the high school building when Noct saved him. Noct, whom Prompto thought of for a couple of days as a friend(?), debated whether to trust him. No one has come so close to Prompto and try to figure him out. He'd been alone for five years. Even though Prompto was much loved by his classmates. He had no real friends. Until Noct came along. 

But Noct fell for him sooner than usual. Prompto was different from anyone Noct's ever met. Its as if they'd clicked. After bringing him to his apartment to live. Noct tried so hard to hold back but in the end he couldn't, and he messed up Prompto all over.

After clearing a few misunderstanding, Prompto and Noct were an item. But Prompto didn't realize that being with Noct, would hurt and bring challenges and external problems. Little did he know that Noct was predestined to an arranged marriage with the neighboring Kingdom's princess Lady Lunafreya after Prompto overheard a few classmates gossiping about it in class.

Even though Noct reassured Prompto he wouldn't marry Princess Lunafreya. Tomorrow morning, Prompto will accompany Noct to the Citadel. A test Noct had to take to test out his magic and combat skills. But turns out Lunafreya would be there too. Prompto was nervous. She is royal, all mighty. Prompto... He was nothing really. How could he compete to her. And as Prompto layed down in bed next to a sleeping Noct, he wondered....

Was it right to stay with Noct?

8:40pm

Prompto sat alone on the living room couch looking out into the city night. The lights were all off in the house and it was quiet.

"I know he reassured me but... I still feel anxious and nervous" Prompto thought as he rested his head on his crossed arms on the head of the couch.

Prompto could feel a presence in the room. He could hear faint steps coming closer to him. And then slowly he felt Noct warmly back hug him and quietly sit down behind him.

Prompto took a deep breath and closed his eyes as Noct dug his face on the back of Prompto's neck.

"...Prompt... Is everything okay?" Noct whispered.

"....yeah" Prompto softly answered as he stared at the window.

Noct sighed and hugged Prompto closer. Prompto could feel Noct's calm breathing on the back of his neck. So close to his ear.

Prompto and Noct stayed quiet. And somehow Prompto felt like crying but he couldn't.

Do I really want Noct taken away from me though?  Prompto wondered.

"....Prompt" Noct said.

"Yeah?"

"I'm sorry"

"For what?" Prompto asked as he still looked out the window.

"For not holding back. I wanted to treasure you but... All I've done was to fulfill my needs and sexual desires towards you"
