A sigh escapes my lips and I feel the soreness begin in my arms After holding my hair in the clasp of the curling iron for about tens seconds I let it fall down my shoulder in it's new style. And repeat. It seems like I've been doing this for ages and just as I was coming to an end I forget I still have yet to put on something nice and do my make up.

Recalling the conversation I had with Luke earlier he stressed that I look my best and what he had planned was a surprise. I hesitantly agreed although I wasn't in the mood for going out, but then again, I never was anymore.

A month had passed since that night and I still woke up some nights with my heart pounding through my chest, scared that whatever nightmare I had was reality. It took a week for me to reach out to Luke and when he came, he stayed.

He refused to leave my side even when I insisted he did. His touch was a reminder that everything would be alright as long as I had him, I never saw myself as being so dependent on a single person, I was so used to being on my own and facing my problems alone but when he came along. I was already wrapped around his finger.

I became worried that he spent too much time with me. It took a lot of convincing for him to leave me for more than a day. When he did leave it was for work and to get little necessities.

Work started to feel like the place it used to be, I was painting more than I'd ever have and, for a strange reason, I found inspiration in Charlotte. Sometimes after my shift ended, I'd drive down to the home and pick her up and we'd take off, usually we'd run around town. She reminded me so much of Luke, the light in her eyes when she was truly happy and how she viewed the world. She stuck to her own rules, unafraid to be herself. She was a symbol of light and everything good in the world. Despite her sickly appearance, she had a way of bringing smiles to the faces of people she hardly even knew. Her bright personality shone through her.

As if Luke hadn't done more than enough for me, the thought that he would take time to plan out something elaborate for tonight when he knows very well that I'd be happy staying at home watching a movie is fucking adorable.

After scanning through a dozen of my 'fancy' dresses I spot one that will put the others to shame. I step into it, sliding up my calves and thighs. Once I pull the sleeves onto my shoulders, the fabric hugs my waist and begins to flare out slightly at my hips, coming to a stop just above my knees. The back has a large dip, which caught my attention when I bought it, the sleeves are long, fitting my arms quite snug and stopping at my wrists. I find some jewelry that would go with the looked I'd been trying to achieve.

The unfamiliar sound of my doorbell rang through my house and I quickly finished putting on my earrings and went back into the living room to the front door. Before opening, I straightened out my dress and boosted my hair slightly with my fingers, hoping I hadn't totally overdone it.

I definitely wasn't overdoing it, once I opened the door I was looking at someone I hardly even recognized. His hair was coiffed, as usual, but besides that he was completely made over. The band shirt and black skinny jeans were traded in for a suit and thin black tie, his hands were held behind his back as he gave me a devilish grin. I must admit, the suit was a good look on his tall frame, but tonight he wouldn't be much taller than me do to the pumps I'd paired with my dress. My eyes couldn't quit starring and his expression mirrored my own as his eyes practically tore the clothes from skin, taking his lip ring between his teeth, making him look that much more sexy.

"Luke Hemmings, you have truly outdone yourself." I say, nodding in approval at his outfit.

He gestured towards my dress,"I could say the same thing about you love."

*Luke's POV*

My eyes can't keep from starring at her, there's no use in trying to be discreet either, it's written all over my face. Whenever she looks back up at me I feel the blood rush to my cheeks and it's like I've forgotten how to breathe. She looks so beautiful tonight, her hair was a nice change from its usual straight style, it cascaded perfectly over her shoulders and the lighting from the restaurant made it look as though she was wearing a halo. She might as well have been, she already was perfection.
