Jungkook's POV
We were at the hospital, waiting to see if Chaeyoung was going to make it. The chances were small.
After all the things we've been through- after all the ups and downs I was certain of the fact that I loved her.
I loved Chaeyoung.
But of course, things don't always go smoothly. Life isn't a fairy tail after all.
I stared down at my feet and sighed deeply- trying to remain calm but that wasn't easy. at all. The love of my life could possibly be dead. Both of my hands started shaking, and so did my legs.
"It's okay to cry, you know?" Taehyung said as he went to sit right beside of me. His hand started to rub my back and I sighed. "I don't cry." Bravely I bit my lip but of course, my mask was too broken and all of my sadness could be seen.
"Cry." He demanded and I just had to put my masculinity and my thoughts aside for a second. Tears streamed down my face and the only thing I could think about was Chaeyoung.
I wonder what people must've thought when they saw me crying. I wonder what my friends where thinking. 'A real man doesn't cry', that's what they must think.
But these tears don't define me. What defined me was Chaeyoung- she showed me how to be a man and not a boy.
"It's okay. I swear." Namjoon walked up to me and started to pat my head. Just as he was about to say something, the doctor came out of the surgery room.
"And?" I immediately stood up and walked up to the doctor, demanding answers. He looked at me and gave me a tiny smile. "She's a lucky one. She survived but she needs rest. A ton of it."
"So she's okay?" Yunseo asked as she was trembling.
"Not exactly. She's lucky to have survived because a bomb blew up very close to her, but her left leg is indeed paralyzed."
"Paralyzed?! What the hell?!" I said as my eyebrows furrowed. "You don't get blown up and get out of the explosions without any harm." The doctor said as he apologized.
"But via treatment we can try to get it 'normal again' but it's going to cost a lot and need a lot of time." He explained even further.
Money was no problem- but if she was going to be able to walk again once day...
"Can I see her?" The doctor nodded and let me in. There she was. Her eyes closed as if she was sleeping peacefully. Her skin was pale with the occasional bruises and wounds.
I walked up to her and took her hand in my hand. She opened up her eyes and tears streamed out of her eyes.
"I heard the news." I said and she gave me a tiny smile. "It was my own fault. I caused this mess and I got too caught up with it. Now I have to face the consequences." Chaeyoung told me sadly.
I tilted up her chin and kissed her softly. "We're in this together. I'll make sure you'll be able to walk again one day."
"I promise." I said.
I promised it because I was certain that it would happen. We were the dream team; and there's nothing we couldn't do.
Then all of our friends entered the room and we started hugging each other. Tears were spilled and laughs where heard.
But most importantly, love was shared.
I looked around and saw the band we had, the memories we had created, the jokes we made, the tears we shed. I loved these people.
And I still do.
