Six years later......

Grace quickly dropped her phone into her handbag and grabbed it from the bed. She sprayed herself briefly and was half running to the living room. She dropped her bag on one of the chairs and went to the dining room.

"Baby Precious!" She called at Precious who was playing with her breakfast.

"Mummy."

"What do you think you are doing, love?" Grace said and quickly took a seat next to her.

"I'm not hungry." Precious replied.

"Yes, but you have to eat. Breakfast is essential-"

"For healthy living. I know but I don't still feel like it." Precious answered and dropped the spoon in her bowl of milk and cereal.

Grace smiled.

"Okay. I'll feed you to a little. You will get hungry later if you don't eat now."

Precious frowned but laughed as Grace tickled her. Grace helped with a few scoop and gave up when Precious wouldn't take more. She let Precious take her bowl to the kitchen while she went to the living room.

"I'm ready." Precious announced as she ran her hand through her cornrows.

"Sit down." Grace ordered.

"I'm going to be late." She shrieked and held onto the beads at the end of her cornrows.

"Take your hands off your hair. Do not shout after eating and sit down, so that your food can get digested a little." Grace said quickly, she rushed everything in and gave no room for further complaints.

After a few minutes. They both left the house. Grace dropped  Precious in her school and she headed straight for the office.

It's been six years now and a few things have changed around the office. The company had extended and broadened and aside from that the owners changed. The firm was sold out to another individual who had been so keen on seeing only the growth and development of the firm.
Grace marched to her desk quickly, it wasn't occupied as it used to be but it still carried more files than the others. She dropped her bag, on the table, her position had changed and she liked it. It reduced the stress which she had been going through for the past few years.

"Atiba!"
Mr Abba called right from his office. He no longer addressed her by her name. She quickly dropped the file she was about to dive into and went to him.

"Good morning sir." She greeted quietly as she adjusted her glasses.

"I want you to be in charge of the new interns. They would be joining us tomorrow." He said.

Grace countenance changed. Two years ago she was in charge of the interns and it didn't go well. They were the most rude and naughty set of people she has ever met in her life.

"S-sir-" She stuttered.

"Hold it! I know what you have to say but it is an order, I'm not asking you."

She held her words and nodded peacefully. She exited his office and returned to her desk.

"I've been waiting for you ever since." Clara, one of her colleagues who obviously doesn't like her said. She dropped some files on her desk.
"I've been trying to sort this out but I'm too busy to settle down to it, so do it." She said and walked away leaving Grace speechless.

Grace had won the best employee of the year which made her a sure and easy target to her colleagues. She had on different occasion wish she could turn down the award. She sighed as she slowly opened the first file.
