Adrien couldn't sleep. He looked at the paused movie and then at snoring Nino. It was dark, and rather cold. Adrien was almost startled when he saw Chloe wrapped up in cosy blankets in the seat opposite his. She must've joined them when they were too focused on the movie to notice. After several minutes of shifting around in his seat uncomfortably, Adrien gave up sleep and took off his seat belt. He drowsily made his way to the kitchen at the back of the plane, rubbing his hands together.

He pushed aside the heavy red curtain and was surprised to see he wasn't alone. There was only one girl on board who had blue silky hair. Adrien stopped in his tracks, not sure of how to approach Marinette, who was sitting at one of the tables, her back faced Adrien.

Oh great. Now I'm the nervous one. Adrien swallowed hard. "Hey Mari." He said softly.

Marinette immediately whipped her head around. There was only one boy on board who called her "Mari".

"Oh. Hi." She turned away and went back to her sketchbook. She felt like a deer caught in headlights. Drawing had made her thoughts calmer. But now that Adrien had interrupted, her mind started racing again at a dangerous speed.

"Can't sleep?" Adrien asked, standing above her, head tilted to the right.

Mari nodded. Her jaw was set as tense as a guitar string. Adrien noticed that she was uneasy and backed away. The plane continued its steady trip to Hong Kong. Adrien pulled open the mini fridge and poured two glasses of milk.

"May I join you, bugaboo?"

Marinette almost dropped her pencil. Bugaboo. She bit her lip and said nothing.

Kitty...

Adrien decided to join her anyway, taking a seat on the stool opposite Marinette and setting down the two glasses of milk. Clink. Marinette looked up when Adrien pushed one glass her way.

"Thanks." She took the drink in her hands and took a sip. When she put the glass back on the table, she felt Adrien's hands sneak their way over hers, until they were resting on her two hands.

"Mari..." Adrien paused, "I know it was a shock, finding out Chat was actually me. But... why are you avoiding me? Are you upset that it was me?"

Marinette's eyes widened. "No! Of course not! It's just a lot to take in..." She shrunk back.

Adrien frowned. There was obviously more to it. He opened his mouth just to find that he had no words.

"Well... just so you know, Mari, Ladybug, I'm more than happy that I found you."

Marinette felt her cheeks heat up. "I'm sorry, Adrien. It's just that I've rejected you so many times... I think I might have to sort out my feelings first." She said, pulling her hands away from his grasp.

Adrien smiled awkwardly. "I'll wait."

He reached over to her open notebook. "Can I take a look?"

Marinette shrugged. "You've seen these designs as Chat."

"I know. I know. But I'll never get sick of them."

As Adrien admired her drawings, Marinette found herself wondering back to all the times Adrien has visited her as Chat. She almost laughed at the thought of Adrien Agreste crawling through her trapdoor at night. She couldn't believe it.

"What are you thinking about?" Adrien asked, his focus no longer on the notebook.

"Hm?"

"You were smiling."

"Oh." Marinette giggled a bit, "I was just thinking about Chat always coming over to the bakery."

Adrien smiled. "I realised that you were more open to Chat than to Adrien. So I decided it wouldn't hurt to get to know you more." He saw Marinette begin to relax.

"I have a question though." Marinette grinned.

"What?"

"How in the world do you come up with so many puns?"

Adrien started laughing. "I'm pawsitive no one would ever know the answer to that question."

"We've come a long way, haven't we?" Marinette said after another sip of cold milk.

"Yeah. It's always been you and me all the way... You've changed too."

"I have? How so?"

"Well for starters," Adrien raised an eyebrow, "You used to wear your hair up in pigtails. Now I understand the red ribbons part of it."

"Yeah." Marinette tucked a strand of her long hair behind her ear. She had let her hair grow, and now it went down her back.

"Do you still use ribbons sometimes?"

Marinette tapped her finger against the table. "No. Not really. There wasn't exactly a reason I stopped, I just did." She shrugged.

"You were also very clumsy." Adrien said.

"I still am." Marinette said, grinning, almost as if she was proud of it.

"And these." Adrien picked up her notebook and waved it in the air, "They get more awesome everyday."

"Thank you." Marinette replied before stretching into a yawn, "You on the other hand... you haven't changed much." She reached out and swept away the blonde locks that touched Adrien's eyes. "Your hair's a tiny bit longer, and you eyes are greener. But personality wise, you're still that kindhearted and sincere person I met years ago."

Adrien smiled sheepishly at her words before catching on to her yawn.

"We should get some sleep." Marinette stated, almost knocking over her stool has she stood up.

"I don't think I can sleep," Adrien looked up at her, "judging by the way Nino snores like an elephant giving birth."

Marinette shook her head and gave Adrien a playful poke on the shoulder. "Be nice." She scolded, "You can come over to my side of the plane if you want."

Adrien grabbed Marinette's notebook and pencil and followed her out of the kitchen.

On top of a food cart, under a long piece of cloth, were four kwamis, passing around popcorn as they watched the two teens exit.
