Master Fu paced around Marianne's house, hands behind his back and hunched over. Marianne watched him from her spot on the couch.

"I've never seen you this worried." Marianne commented.

Master Fu finally joined her on the couch. "I wish I could contact the kids." He said.

"My phone book is right over there."

"I know." Master Fu said, "It really has all the numbers around the world. But I can't call the kids who're out of the country; Their phones won't work. Plus Ming and I haven't talked in years and I don't know if the kids have reached them yet. I'm afraid of being faced with hostility. After all, I was the one who left and went all over the World, not contacting any family or friends. I'm honestly surprised that Lew picked up the phone... And I really hope I'm not putting those kids in danger."

"Listen, Fu." Marianne said, her eyes sincere and understanding, "You chose to let those kids be heroes because you saw something in them. They've been doing this for almost three years now and they've never disappointed. And you ran away because you were afraid of putting the people you love in danger."

"But that meant I had to keep us apart..." Master Fu whispered, placing his hands over hers.

"But that didn't stop us from being together, did it?" She replied playfully, "One day, you'll be able to stop running, I just know it..."

(at Mae's house)

"Have you looked everywhere?" Juliek asked, stacking up some boxes like the attic was his own personal space.

Nino nodded. "Everywhere." He emphasized.

"I'm homeschooled." Juliek continued, "I spend hours up here going through my dads stuff. He died when I was five, so I don't remember much of him. Sometimes I come across stuff in his boxes that helps me understand what kind of a person he was. I'm honestly kinda pissed that my mom never told me any of this, knowing how much time I spend in the attic, but eh." Juliek paused and looked around, "Have any of you seen a small round box by any chance? It's pitch black."

"Oh yeah." Marinette lit up, then picked up the black box from the other side of the attic.

"Thanks." Juliek said, still avoiding eye contact.

He flipped open the box and held it up at an odd angle. Alya, who was kneeling next to him, caught a glimpse of the numbers carved into the inside of the box. Juliek placed it down gently and grabbed another nearby box, retrieving a notebook. He turned a few pages, careful not to rip the worn out paper. The others watched him without a word, as if he was doing some kind of wonderful magic trick. Then, Juliek reached into the box and pulled out a tiny pen with a light attached to it. Chloe helped him spread out the folded paper across the floor. Everyone huddled around it.

Juliek handed Chloe the pen. "Turn it on."

Chloe turned it on and shone it on the paper. Beneath the words written in ink, other characters came to view in a reddish colour. It was hard to read, but the kwamis recognized it almost immediately.

"That's it!" Trixx cheered loudly.

"Wayzz, can you read it?" Pollen asked.

Wayzz shook his green head, almost shamed. "Only the guardian can read it."

"Guardian what now?" Juliek said.

"Our Master Fu." Alya tried to explain, "He gave us our Miraculous."

Juliek nodded. "My uncle Fu. My dad wrote about him in his diaries."

"So do we bring this back to Master Fu?" Adrien asked.

Seeing the slight look of panic on Juliek's face, Marinette quickly answered "We'll just take a picture and show him."

Adrien nodded and faced Juliek. "Thank you. You might not understand, but you've just saved an untold number of Parisians."

Juliek shrugged. "Glad I've been useful."

Nino patted his shoulder. "More than useful. I'm really impressed by the way you just found what we were looking for in less than five minutes."

"I'm sorry we barged in." Chloe added, twirling a finger in her blonde hair, "And made a mess of your daddy's things."

Suddenly, Juliek cracked a small amused smile. "You had to, I guess. And I'm pretty glad you showed up. There's more stuff written in whatever language that is. Maybe you can tell me what they mean. I've been trying to decode it for years. And my brother would also be thrilled."

They helped Juliek locate the rest of his father's notebooks, which contained messages on the page numbers carved into the inside of the black box. Both Nino and Alya took pictures, making sure it wasn't blurry. When Mae came back home, her handbag slung over her shoulder, she found her youngest son, who barely spoke to anyone, chatting comfortably and laughing with his new friends.

"Hey mom." He waved.

"So, did you find it?" Mae asked, hooking her keys on the door.

"Yep." Marinette smiled, "Thanks to Juliek."

Nino slapped Juliek on the back and they grinned.

"Everything's set." Adrien said, sitting up, "We can head back to Paris now."

"And we should get going too." Alya looked at her phone, "It's getting late."

"No dinner?" Mae asked.

The heroes shook their heads and insisted that it was best if they get home as soon as possible. One by one, they put their shoes on and the kwamis hid in their bags and pockets.

Juliek came running. "I want you guys to have this." He said warmly, handing Chloe a piece of paper, "I ripped it from one of my dad's journals. It's not much, but it's valuable to me and you guys really are kind, friendly people."

"Thank you." Chloe gave him a squeeze and placed in piece of paper into her handbag with Pollen.

"You guys have my number?"

Adrien nodded enthusiastically. "We'll tell you what the characters mean once everything has settled down."

"Bye dude." Nino said, giving Juliek a fist bump.

"Bye. Thank you!" Juliek yelled from the porch. Mae waved.

The team climbed into the uber and watched the starry sky as they sped back to their hotel. Their mission was completed. They were going home.
