Chapter eleven

Lavi's POV

**

I hurried home to find the door to our room slightly open. The room was awfully quiet and dark when I pushed open the door and went inside.

Seems like the light has been turned off and Katherine was already fast asleep.

I checked the time on my wrist watch and it was already 10:30pm and decided against waking her up.

I tiptoed around the room and placed some of the things I came home with on the table.

I took off my shirt and placed it on the arm chair and sat down on the edge of the bed, smiling sweetly to myself. Thinking about the items I had returned home with.

Katherine is asleep right now and i can't wake her up in order to show her those little legs of socks and pullover I got from the market earlier.

I spent hours in the market looking for what to buy after I left Baba's shop and on my way home. I had to stop in the bet shop across the street for a while in order to place a quick bet before heading back home.

I just hope she is not upset with me for staying out so long. I couldn't even check on her through out the whole day but not once did I stop thinking of her.

Christ!

I reach for her on the bed but found it empty.

What?

"Katherine?"

I turned on the switch on the wall giving light to the dark room only to find the bed empty. Katherine was not sleeping on the bed as expected.

Where is she?

I went back outside and looked around but still did not find her..

Where could she be at this time?

I went back inside and searched around. If she is not here then she must have left a note or something and as assumed; they was a piece of paper lying on the table.

I quickly scanned the writing on the paper with shaky hands and damn! The lump in my throat is not helping cos I can't breathe anymore.

What the hell does it mean she has gone out in search of me when I had begged her to please stay indoor no matter what happens!

Damn!

How do I find her now!. I don't even know how long she has been gone!

I should have known, it was going to take a few more hours before she goes out in search of me but why didn't she just wait a little longer.

Dear lord!

This is a fucking nightmare!

I need to find her before something else happen to her. This is all my fault. I should have come home sooner.

Shit!

The doctor had mentioned, her due date to be in two weeks and shouldn't be left alone and now? Look what has happened. I just hope she is already on her way back home. Screw that thought! I'll go out there and get her myself.

The street was scanty and lonely as I run around in search of a pregnant girl with curly hairs but found none.

I searched her face in every female passersby hoping it would be her but I was wrong! Katherine was no where in sight.

An hour later, I was still running around breathing through my mouth dying from sheer exhaustion.

I can't seem to find her anywhere.

Did she managed to run into aunt Nene while looking for me? Or something else has happened to her.

I can't help but pray for the former to be the case at this point or I will fucking loose my mind trying to imagined where she might be.

It's better to know that she is safe and sound with Aunt Nene than something bad happening to her and the baby.

Dear lord! Please keep her safe I beg you!
