Chapter nineteen

Katherine's pov

**

It has been two months since I had my babies and a lot has changed. I was back home with my family and when I say family? I was referring not just to my dad or Aunt Nene with my babies but also with Lavi by my side.

Darien and Derek has brought so much happiness into our lives that we could have only imagined a year ago.

Lavi turned out to be a great father; learning how to feed the babies not to mention singing lullabies just to put them to sleep.

Aunt Nene and my dad weren't left out either as they would take turns to watch the babies when Lavi and I are all burned out.

Gosh...

Obi and his family came visiting over the weekend and his mom brought so many  gifts for the babies. One would think that, they were their actual grandparent.

So here I am kneeling over the baby on the bed while Lavi had the other baby in his arm who has been crying non stop.

Hell...

"Why won't he stop crying? We just fed him a while ago" Lavi had lamented as he turned to me with Derek in his arms.

"Hand him over let me take a look"

Reaching for the baby; I lay him beside his brother Darien on the bed who was nibbling on his sucker.

Thanks goodness he isn't crying as well or I might go crazy.

"Maybe he needs a diaper change Lav"

"Is that why he is crying so much?" Asked Lavi scratching his head in confusion before bending over the three of us sprawled on the bed.

Darien and Derek both looks like little muffin clothed in their overall blue pant even though it's a bit too large for their actual sizes.

Darien on the other hand was no longer sucking on his sucker at this point but was now sound asleep.

Thanks goodness

Derek didn't seem to need a diaper change as I had imagined but a nap because it was already noon and he was still awake.

"He needs a nap"

"Give him back to me then, I will make him sleep".

After handing him the baby; he continued to take little steps with Derek in his arms while humming some tune to him. Derek has somehow gotten used to his humming or he won't sleep at all.

He continued humming until he stopped crying and eventually slept off.

After placing him beside his brother in their crib, he slumped down on the bed with his eyes close.

Someone is obviously tired!

I lay beside him on the bed as well feeling all exhausted and ecstatic at the same time. Ever since my babies arrived, it has been like this..taking care of them all day. We can't sleep if they are awake and warming up bottles for them at night hasn't been my favorite either but Lavi and aunt Nene assist a great deal and I don't have to do most of the work.
