BLAKE'S POV

Dinner went well after all the awkwardness died away and we started relaxing and joking around. Yang and I are currently wandering through the city of Vale by foot.

"Do you want to hold hands?" Yang asks, shocking me slightly but I nod shyly, letting her warm hand slip into mine. "Your hand is so soft."

My voice has decided it doesn't want to work and I'm just stuttering for a reply. After trying a couple more times, I just close my mouth and smile at the blonde who is grinning at me.

"I want to show you something, is that okay with you?" Yang asks. I can't help but love it when she asks such a simple question. She's always asking if I'm okay with something.

"Sure." I grin at her, on the verge of laughing as she starts running, pulling me along with her.

We run down the street and into an old building that is clearly abandoned. I give Yang a worried look but she just throws me a reassuring smile back and guides me upstairs. I hope she isn't a serial killer. I follow her up three flights of stairs, then through the roof access.

It doesn't take long to realise why she brought me up here. The view of the city is amazing. The building may not be very tall amongst some others but you can see across most of the city from this small spot.

"Whoa." I can't help but let go of her hand and run to the edge to get a better view. "This is amazing, Yang."

"I like to come here to get away from things." Yang tells me, standing next to me. "It's unbelievably quiet but the view is just..."

My heart rate picks up suddenly in my chest but in a very good way as Yang places her hand over mine. Both resting on the edge of the roof. Her hand is so unbelievably warm, it's nice to feel. But this happy and peaceful moment is ruined by my stupid thoughts. My fears that Adam will come back into my life like he does.

I yank my hand away, taking a few quick steps away, shaking my head, earning a concerned look from Yang.

"What is it?" She asks gently, trying to come closer but I just shake my head more, tears threatening to spill. "Blake?"

The next step back sends me tumbling against the rough rooftop, scraping up my palms but I don't care. I can't breathe, there's ringing in my ears. I want it to stop but it won't.

"Please, tell me." I hear Yang say while sitting next to me, rubbing my sore hands while I finally let the tears fall. "Did your last relationship end bad?"

I can't do anything more than nod, wanting to force myself to run away but Yang's hands are so warm and nice. Gentle. No one apart from my parents and Sun have ever been so gentle and warm towards me.

Yang let's me take my time and calm down, waiting for me to be ready to talk. I guess I should say something.

"Yang," I whisper, forcing myself to look up into those beautiful lilac coloured eyes. "I'm not human." Yang just frowns at me, clearly confused, so I take a hand out of hers and pull away my bow. "I'm a Faunus."

"Your kitty ears are pretty." Not what I was expecting her to say. Most people don't like my kind. "I don't care if you have cat ears, it's apart of who you are."

I stare at her, my chest heaving. I'm completely shocked by this girl. I just thought she tolerated Sun because of me, I never thought she'd actually be okay with our kind. I don't try stop her when she uses her thumb to wipe away my tears. She gives my ears a fond look then looks me in the eyes.

"I want to know you, Blake. All of you, and your ears are part of that." Yang smiles softly at me, gently taking my hand back in hers.

"Why are you being so nice?" I find that I don't want to pull away from the contact. I didn't realise how much I missed someone being so close.

"You're still a person, no one should be treated different because they look different." Yang's thumbs rub back and forth over my knuckles but her eyes stay on my face. "Hey, Sun's tail doesn't bother me, why would cute kitty ears?"

"I don't know, I'm stupid." I mumble. Yang's face hardens slightly at that, scaring me a little.

"You're not stupid. You have reason to be scared because there a right assholes out there." With that, Yang wraps her arms loosely around my waist. It takes me a few seconds but I give in and hug her back, my face buried in her shoulder.

"Thank you." I whisper in her ear after a little while.

Yang pulls back and by the look on her face, she's about to ask something cheeky.

"If you're part cat..." Oh no. Please Yang no. That's all I can think because I know where this is going. "Does that mean you play with cat toys?"

I somehow pull off a dead serious look while trying not to laugh. I knew she'd ask but it's still funny. "I'm kidding!"

"I don't play with cat toys." I give her a smile in return for her bright one. "I hate crying. It drains me so much."

"Do you want to go home?" Yang sounds slightly disappointed.
"Only if you'll stay? I don't really want to be alone." I stare down at my pale hands. "You don't have to."

"I want to. Qrow and Ruby will be playing video games all night and I'd much rather spend it cuddling with you." Yang gets to her feet and holds out a hand for me to take.

I smile at her and somewhat shyly put my hand in hers and let her pull me up. We wander back to the restaurant to get her bike, then go back to mine.

It's late and my parents are asleep, which I am very glad for. I have no idea how they'd react to Yang. Mum will probably love her.

I give Yang some sweatpants and a hoodie to wear to bed and get into some myself.

The first ten minutes or so in bed are awkward until I sigh, and promptly place my head on Yang's stomach. Yang tenses for a second, probably because of the fact I made the first move but then she wraps her arm around my shoulders.
