"Words have no power to impress the mind

without the exquisite horror of their reality." -Edgar Allen Poe

<< Awkwardness and Jokes >>

Cas eventually split off from the Winchesters after they made it to the bunker, Dean asked him to go out and search for any sign of Sam.

Dean and Dakota sit across from each other at one of the tables in the war-room, Dean was on the phone with Cas while Dakota was reading a book on the Men of Letters.

"I haven't found anything on these surveillance cameras. I mean, it's like they just disappeared." Dean informs Cas with annoyance. Dakota glances up at him and gives him a reassuring smile. "How about you? Any of the local beat cops see anybody that shouldn't be there?" Dakota nudges Dean's leg with her foot, he sighs and switches the phone on speaker so she can listen.

"It's pretty rural. Not a lot of beat cops." Cas says slowly, almost confused. Dean closes his eyes and nods his head slowly, worry plastered across his face. "I've checked all the motels, abandoned buildings. No sign of Sam.

Dean nods still, his eyes remain closed and Dakota watches him carefully. "All right." He sighs, opening his eyes and looking over at his daughter.

Dakota's face lights up visibly as something clicks in her head. "Wait!" She squeals, sitting up straight and leaning across the table. "Their British, right? Like, they're not from here. So obviously they don't just have a place to put Sam on hand, they'd have to rent a place or something, right?" She questions excitedly, hope swelling inside her chest. Dean's eyes lighten up and a grin spreads across his face.

"She's right, check real-estate offices. See if anybody bought a place or rented a place. I mean, these people had a freakin' plane. Maybe they do things legit."

Castiel's voice is soft when he replies, not wanting to burst either of their bubbles. "Okay, I understand. I'll call you in the morning."

Dean quickly switches the phone off speaker. "Cass, hey." He says before the angel could hang up, he gets up and begins to pace around. "So here's the thing. It's been kind of weird here with, you know, mom being back. It's like we don't know how to act around each other, so we just kind of make this small talk and act normal, but it's--it's so not normal."

Dakota snorts as she thinks of Castiel's possible reply to that, he doesn't know how to soothe people sometimes. He gets really awkward and flustered with these sort of problems, whenever Dakota would ask for advice on something, he'd stutter and his cheeks would redden.

"Well, nothing." Dean replies to whatever Cas said."That--that--that's the whole point." He stutters as he tries to get Cas to understand. "Well, nothing." Dean repeats.
