"Friends are those rare people who ask how we are

and then wait to hear the answer." -Ed Cunningham

<< Gain a Friend but Lose a Father >>

"Cas." Dakota sighs in relief when she sees her angel come back through the portal. The youngest Winchester was sitting on the ground, holding her shoulder that Lucifer had dislocated in the other world. She couldn't help the small smile that spreads across her lips.

But the relief quickly turn to despair as a an angel blade appears through Castiel's chest, killing him. Dakota screams loudly, scrambling away from the sight and hitting her uncle's legs.

"NO!" Dean yells, his voice cracking, Dakota sobs loudly when Cas's body hits the ground.

Lucifer stands where the Winchesters' angel once did, holding the blade the that killed him, sighing heavily like taking their friend's life took so much energy. The three hunters stare at what use to be their best friend, none of them knowing what to do next, tears lining their eyes.

"That was fun." Lucifer tells him, shrugging his shoulders mockingly. "Seriously, guys, points for trying. Super impressed, but, uh...playtime's over."

"You're a waste of a halo." Dakota spits, glaring at the archangel with hate. She wasn't worried about Lucifer killing her, if he wanted her dead she would've died a long time ago.

"Aw, I love you, too, Dakota." Lucifer grins sickly, holding his hands under his chin.

"Get away from them." Mary hisses as she struts towards Lucifer.

Lucifer stares at the eldest Winchester blankly. "Mary, right? Yeah, I've heard about you. You, uh, are certainly living up to the hype." His eyes scan her body before he makes a playful growling noise. Dakota stares at him with disgust.

"Look, seriously, I just wanted to say thank you for everything." Lucifer states, smiling at the hunters. "I owe ya, kid."

None of the other Winchesters notice Mary activating the Enochian brass knuckles behind her back. She goes to step forward but Sam grabs her arm and pulls her back, muttering a warning.

"I love you." Mary says softly, giving each of the Winchesters living glances before storming towards Lucifer.

She rears back and slams her fist against the archangel's face, Sam's head jerks back in shock at his mother's actions.

Lucifer straightens and licks his now bleeding lip. "Cute. Is that all you got, mama?" He taunts.

She punches him in the face again and again, he stumbles back and drops the blade beside Castiel's head. She continues punching him until he grabs her arm and pulls her into the rift as he falls backward.
