14. Heartbroken

Annies pov

After we're done riding rides and playing games, Asher takes me back to school. In the car we take cute pictures/videos together and dance around to music.

It's crazy how comfortable I am with him..

We plan on another friends date and he drops me off at school, hugging me goodbye and promising to call me in the morning. I walk to my room and find Kenzie sitting against the wall beside my door, with her head in her hands. "Um Mackenzie? Are you okay?" She looks up and me with red eyes, and tear stained cheeks, she's obviously been crying. She shakes her head no. I slide down the wall to sit next to her, placing my hand on her shoulder. "What happened." Kenzie starts to say something, but it makes her cry harder. "Hey hey, it's okay. Let's go in my room so you have a little more privacy to talk okay?" She nods and I stand up, turning around to help her up before unlocking my door.

We go inside and she sits at my desk chair, me sitting on my bed. I give her about 15 minutes to calm down and try talking again. "Okay so what happened?" She takes a couple deep breaths and starts talking. "Well I found out you got a day pass to hang out with Asher, so I went and told Hayden, hoping he would give up on you and I could have him. Instead he called me an attention seeking whore and slammed the door in my face. But that's not the worst part, he got all of his classes switched so he doesn't have to see me, and he changed dorm rooms with his friend so he's not even on the same floor." Kenzie puts her head down on my desk and starts crying again. "Stay here. There's ice cream in the fridge and the remote is on the bed, make yourself at home." I grab my key and my phone, walking out the door.
I text Hayden:

Annie-
Hey. Can we talk?

Hayden-
Yeah ig.

Annie-
Cool. What room number are you now?

Hayden-

Annie-
omw.

I talk to Hayden for over an hour, about his Kenzie drama, about me and Asher, about me and him. Kenzie texts me and asks me when I'm coming back, so I figure it's time to go. "Just text her okay Hayden? She's in my room heartbroken. And she probably ate all of my ice cream. Which you owe me for."

"What?! Why do I owe you?"

"Because you inflicted the pain that is causing her to eat it."

"Fine whatever."

I walk out and back to my room, finding out that Kenzie has in fact eaten every last drop of my ice cream that was in the freezer. And she fell asleep on my bed. I wake her up and walk her to her room, throwing a blanket over her and leaving. I get back to my room, tell Asher goodnight, and fall asleep myself.
