The wind outside whistled. The coyotes out on the mountain peaks howled and the radiant full moon beamed down on everything. The thin clouds were high in the navy blue sky and stars were shining down and beaming with beauty. The chirping of birds filled the air and the crunching of leaves, made the squirrel's perk up and dash into the bushes.
The rushing of water filled the young man's alert ears and he headed towards it. He licked his chapped lips, his throat dry and desperate for just a sip of water. A raspy cough slipped out of the brunette's parched lips and his shaggy, untamed dark brown hair swayed as a small gust of crisp wind blew.
He didn't know how far he had went from civilization, but he hoped that he was far enough from any town. His piercing lime green eyes uneasily darted from left to right and he moved a sturdy, thick, tree branch out of his way.
Aiden stepped over a mossy tree branch one leg at a time. He squinted, his eyes narrowing. A glistening river was in front of him, glimmering brightly. The radiant moon shone upon the river and Aiden rushed towards the river, scooping water in his big hands. A gray owl hooted from a large hollow tree and Aiden glanced over his shoulder before shrugging and returning to greedily drinking the pristine water.
The cool water made Aiden's hands freezing and a droplet of water ran down his chin. The rustling of twigs and leaves caught Aiden's attention and he glanced at the leaves behind him. Aiden cautiously got up and turned around, slowly walking towards the sussuring dark green bushes.
Aiden slowly moved some of the twigs and leaves away, creating a small opening. Aiden gasped in suprised, his eyes widening at wait he saw. Adorable glimmering eyes were fearfully gazing up at Aiden. Aiden reached out his hand further into the bush and the small fox took a trembling step back, whimpering as he shrunk back in the bush he was hiding in.
Aiden retracted his hand for a few moments, biting his bottom lip. His piercing gleaming lime eyes stared at awe at the little fox. This creature was unfamiliar to him, at home a creature like this wasn't roaming around.
Suddenly the fox scrambled away and Aiden took a large step forward. "Wa-," Aiden was cut off as he was suddenly falling down in a large hole. Aiden collided with a whole bunch of rocks and twigs snagged his ebony leather jacket. Aiden landed on his stomach with a loud thud and he clamorously groaned. Aiden gazed upwards and instantly his green eyes were wide. His jaw hung wide open at the sight. Gleaming crystals hung on top of the cavern wall and a large waterfall streamed down from a wide opening in the caves hollow walls.
Aiden slowly got up to his feet, eyes wide in awe at the unfamiliar sights before him. The water around him was as clear as day and he had never seen anything, so grand. Different colors shone radiantly, shining brightly on the beautiful and unique crystals and jewels. What caught Aiden's eyes the most was the large quartz before him. Not once had quartz been in the overworld. Maybe things were different in this world. If he had found quartz he wondered what other things he could find down here. Aiden took a small step backwards recovering from the shock he had just encountered. He never would've expected, so many unfamiliar sights in one day, ever.
