hi I have a lot of art and other stuff I need to post but for now just take this contest entry because uhhhhhh I need to post it

okay, anyways

here's my entry for My_Name_Is_JM's redraw contest!

I redrew this old ass drawing from, like, November of 2016:

I changed some stuff, like the pose (I felt like the pose in the original was kinda stiff oof) and the cat on his shirt. I mean, yes, the cat was intended to look deranged, but I like my cute lil cat man on the redraw better than the cat on crack cocaine, y'know?

and you can't totally tell, but I did use the exact same colors as the original drawing (even though, let's be honest, they're horrendous) but on some parts it looks V E R Y different because uh i learned how to shade properly

also I think the "Jesus Christ it's Jesus Christ" over by the cat was a reference to this video:

anyways, a bit of background about this drawing — this was a drawing of the guy I was, like, in love with at the time! his name was Dane (but I called him Gyarados because that was his favorite Pokémon (I think?) and because I didn't want anyone I knew irl to find out who he was lmao) and tbh idk why I even liked him, I honestly hardly knew him, and when I tried to confess to him he,,,, stood me up, but I think that also might have been partially my friends fault for not giving him the letter that asked him to meet me at this certain place (at least that's what I think happened, he might have been kind of a dick but he wasn't THAT much of a dick) and uhhhhhhh yeah idk why I wrote all that out I feel like I'll probably regret spilling all that oops
