Part Two

And here is where I end my tale
Of violence and of sorrow
A desperate tale of love
And hate
And guilt
For killing

--

Alas, though this tale has ended
It has yet only begun

--

I've never been in war
Nor stood on battle field
I've never raised a sword
Not hurt or killed a man

So how is it I'm enlisted in an army
How I'm battle worn and weary
I'm a warrior, strong and loyal
And I've seen friends die

I have the thousand yard stare
And perfected abandoning hope

I am a fighter

--

I wasn't always like this
I wasn't always so strong
Now you see me
See me as I am

Do you still love me?
Do you still care
About me like you did?
Cause this is it...

I can't go on
Not like I did
I'm not so strong
As I seem to be

That life is over
No more pretending
I can't hide
In a shadow anymore

Have you ever heard your name, screamed out into the wind, lost in the night with the sea breeze? A sound so lone and desolate that the moon hides her face and the birds all fall quiet from their own lamentations?

Circling into a dark abyss
Ink that disappears into the drain
A burning black sun against the sky
Midnight that never ends

And with the dying of the light
That precious moon that brings the night
When all is said and we'll done
Who among us will have won?

The roses are falling
The kings-men are dead
The stars in the sky darken
The wolves must be fed

Broken Questions

Every day the sun would rise anew
Every night I cried my loss for you
Every day the sun didn't fail to rise
Every night I waited here for you

Where have you gone
I wanted to go too
Tell me why I couldn't follow you
I searched the sky
Every day
Every night
Looking for traces of you
Why then have I failed to find you?

There's only you. You've known it the whole time, haven't you. We're not real. We're not real. Only you. There's only you.
