Dancing through the air
Falling with the rain
My heart beats as a drum
The moon sings for herself
Sweet melodies that float
I drift along with them
Starlight gently weeps—
Dark waters churn within my heart
That vast sea of ink and fear
Sea foam bubbling up to my throat
Until oil slick runs down my chin
Blood runs cold within my veins
Black ice storms roil within my mind—
Sea wind come o'er to me
Though the mountains are high
Come ease my mind tonight
Run your fingers through my hair
Ringlets of silk that spiders weave
Will shine with salt and spray tonight
Endless waves crash against this shore
Rhythmic lullabies of the deep
Water wash my eyes and soul
Love I never knew before—
The lake of time laps gently still,
Upon the shores of ice.
Blood blossoms sweetly through the fog,
Painting the gravestone's plights.
The sun will die, a darkness born,
After the moon's defeat;
The stars are running,
The clocks are turning,
Fearing the eternal night.
Kings and queens sleep forever
In the broken prison yard;
How soundly one can rest at night,
When your head is no longer thinking.
Revolution is coming, rising,
Up from the dead, red sea.—
The wind is silent tonight
She has stopped her song
Her stories have all come to end
The night is lonely without a friend—
The fireflies are falling slowly
Their flickers fading from the night
Glowing drops drifting downwards
Extinguished in the river's flight
The floating lamps of lonesome walks
Lights that had always led the way
Children of warm summer dusks
Now on this world, can no longer stay—
When my heart
Starts running red
Pouring forth
My darkness withinMay thy heart
Be chasing love
The darkness
Dripping black
From thy lipsMay thy voice
Lease the
Battle cry
Raw and painful
From thy tearsMay thy hand
Be raised
With sword
Forged within
Thy fire hidden—
To the beginnings,
Dark, fearful, and new;
Relentlessly running,
And fighting,
And looking,
To the end of the road.To the in-limbos,
Grey, foggy, and empty;
Restlessly pacing,
And thinking,
And wanting,
An answer to the world. To the endings,
Deep, flaming, and true;
Bittersweetly falling,
And setting,
And closing,
The sun at the end of the day.—
Light burns coldly
Falling faster
Spattering across the groundScraped by limbs
Scorched by moons
Filtering down this wayHere they come
By horse and cart
To gather 'neath the moonHere lays her heart
The silent moon
Bleeding into the loam—
Hear the ocean singing softly
She calls her loves to heed
Those salt-touched hearts
Rough with longing
Lungs drowning for sea sprayHer dance eternal lulls
She sweeps back her gown again
So many in her find that grace
The voice that beckons sweetly
The song that sirens singFar beneath the stars
Cold and burning bright
She waits and sings
Lullabies long forgotten
As the seasons changed
