We all have stars within us
Some nights they shine
And some nights they collide.
We marvel at the beauty of the brightest
And sometimes forget
That stars shine brightest
When they are about to collapse.
Sometimes we don't realise
When a star fades into darkness.
They are still there
But trapped in a world of inky solitude,
Waiting for someone to notice their absence.
But too engulfed in blackness
To realise when someone does.
Yet the light people see from them
Is still travelling and being seen
Even after it dies,
It hears the wishes of children,
Sees the smiles,
Appreciates every single look it gets.
Knowing that even when it isn't useful
And has no purpose
It still sparks joy
And brightens up someone's day.
You may think it weird
For being so happy,
Whilst being held captive by darkness.
You may say that it is weird
For being so happy
When it is no longer the star of the show.
But it is still a star,
At heart and in soul.
You may say that if the eyes
Are the windows to the soul,
Then it is seeing stars.
But the stars in our eyes
Do not cloud our vision.
They just provide us
With a new perspective.
A.N. Honestly, if I'm being honest, I honestly have no clue tbh what I am honestly doing, honestly, to be honest, if I'm really being honest.
