Ch. 7: A Relapse

Jack's POV:
I head to school early the next morning in order to avoid Elsa.

As I sit down with my breakfast in the cafeteria, the student council, minus hiccup and astrid, is hanging posters for activities for the students to join. Cheer, band, football, soccer, choir, the list is endless.

They come over to my table. I used to hang out with them a lot before I joined the big 4, which is now the super six (according to hiccup).

"Hey jack!" Says north in his Russian accent. "Long time no see!"

I smile up at the blue eyed muscular boy. With his white hair and accent, most people would think he's weird, but we all love him.

Bunny stands next to him, and rolls his eyes at me. We have a love hate relationship. I don't even remember his real name, I've always just called him bunny for his large feet. He's tall muscular, Australian, and loves his boomerang. Take it from me, you don't touch it. Ever.

Short little Sandy looks up at me and waves, his golden hair shimmering in the lights. He doesn't talk, but I don't mind.

And hen there's tooth. Purple and green feathers in her hair, huge violet eyes, her step is so light she almost always seems to be floating. She really pretty, I've gotta say that. I used to have a huge crush on her, but it faded with time.

We talk for a while before Elsa pops in, making me feel uncomfortable. I get up, leave the table, and head to English early.

When class starts, Mr. Brooks comes into the room, face glowing with excitement.

"I have fantastic news!" He exclaims. "The school has seen all of the English classes practicing Romeo and Juliet, but he would like this one to perform for the school!"

He looks at our faces. Some people squeal with excitement, others groan with embarrassment. I'm with the second group. Elsa is too, by the look on her face.

"Pull out your scripts everyone," commands Mr. Brooks. "Juliet, start where we left off last time."

Elsa sighs and opens her script. "Romeo,
Oh Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?"

This is going to be a long class.

Elsa's POV:
The bell finally rings, signaling class is over.

I head to math, and take my seat next to Punzie.

The board reads that we have a test today, and I feel super prepared.

I sit down, and the tests are handed out. I complete it quickly, and check my work. Then I recheck and double recheck. By the time I'm finished with that, I'm one of the last ones to turn in my test.

I watch Ms. Noble grade it, and am handed my test back. A 79%? This is a joke right? I slump back to my seat, sulking.

Punzie waves her test in front of me.

"An 85%!" She squeals. "I didn't even study!"

I frown. This is so not fair.

We then go to art, where my season painting is almost finished. Jack "accidentally" bumps my arm, sending my paintbrush flying across the canvas.

I shriek in terror.

"My painting!" I yell.

"I'm so sorry!" Says jack.

"Whatever," I scoff, "I bet you did it on purpose."

He looks at the floor. What a jerk, pretending like he didn't do anything.

I take my paintbrush, and rub it across his canvas. He slowly looks at it, then at me. Then he picks up the jar of paint, and calmly pours it on my head. Mrs. Dunford has yet to notice, but she's about to. "

"Aaaaaaaaaa!" I scream. "My hair!"

I glare at him, as he tries to stifle a laugh. I punch him in the gut, and Punzie jumps up.

Jack pulls his fist back, ready to strike, when Punzie comes between us, preventing further damage.

Mrs. Dunford walks over.

"Detention," she says, before walking back to her desk.

Detention?! That's it. I try and claw jack, but Punzie holds me back.

"Calm Elsa," she says.

I take a deep breath, and pull myself together. Next I have cheer. I can survive until then.
