A couple months later, Winter was over. The Powerpuff Girls checked on the Gangreen Gang almost everyday. Ace was still hiding his pain and Sanford couldn't stop tasting the poison in his mouth.
On the second week of spring, Ace and Snake decided to check out a concert in the city. They tried to sneak in backstage.
"Ace?" Sanford asked, "Why are we sneaking in here?" Ace climbed up the fence and looked back at his friend. "I know someone here." Ace explained. He helped Sanford climb the fence and they both jumped down. It was easy to pass the security since Ace was good at sneaking. When they made it backstage, Ace knocked on a door of some kind of trailer. Snake stood beside his friend and waited for someone to answer.
The door opened revealing a man with short black hair, tannish green skin, and an upside down cross dangling from his neck. Snake felt like he saw this person before. It was the bass player for Gorillaz. Murdoc Niccals!
"Hey Mudz," Ace said to the bassist.
Murdoc smiled showing his sharp teeth. "Ace" He said back, "It's been a while. How have you been?" Ace shrugged and told Murdoc everything was ok for him. Murdoc looked at Sanford and waved. "Who's this?" Murdoc asked. Ace wrapped his arm around the mutant.
"This is Snake" Ace introduced, "He's...my boyfriend". Murdoc blinked a couple times. "I didn't know you still liked the same sex" Murdoc teased. Snake looked at the two. Ace hung his head. "How do you guys know each other?" Sanford asked.
Ace looked at Murdoc who chuckled from the teasing. "Ace and I knew each other for a while. I was at a Pawn Shop, shopping at this city. I was around twenty-nine. Ace was maybe ten or nine. He came in and tried to steal these cards and was caught. The man grabbed ahold of him and tried to pull on him. I told the man Ace was just looking at the cards. The shop owner released Ace and sat back at his desk to help another costumer".
"Murdoc gave me the cards and allowed me to walk off with them" Ace continued the story, "After that we started to hang out with each other. I told him a lot about me and told me a lot about him. After a couple years he moved back to the United Kingdom to start a band and when he left that's when I met Grubber and Big Billy."
Snake nodded. Murdoc took a long stare at Snake. "Why the hell do you look like a python?"
Sanford lowered, "I-I wasss mutated with a sssnake". Murdoc stared one last time than nodded.
"Where's the rest of your band?" Ace asked.
"Oh", Murdoc shrugged, "There out partying somewhere with VIP tickets. I stayed here keep up with the concert schedule. But now that you're here with your boyfriend, we should hang out."
Murdoc allowed Ace and Snake in.
