"In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: It goes on."
---Robert Frost
It goes on. It seems obvious, but really it's not. It's like fundamentally against human thinking. See, humans are basically narcissistic. It's just in our nature. It's that deep-rooted sense of self-preservation that makes us worry 24/7 about ourselves and nothing but ourselves. Go ahead and change my mind.
We. Are. 100%. Consumed. With. Ourselves.
It's true. No matter what we do, it's based off of that needing to be alive, and that desire to live, and that thinking about living. We love ourselves. Even most people who think they hate themselves still feed themselves, defend themselves. Face it. We are selfish.
We cannot imagine that this world will keep going when everything stops for us. When we bite the dust the earth just keeps rotating and everyone pays no mind. Sorry, but you are not the center of the universe. Face it.
Even if I drop dead in my chair right now, seven billion other people will not even bat an eyelash. I'm really not that important, if I think about it. I'm important to probably a hundred people. That's it.
