Chapter 9 - Enemy's Evasion

When I woke up, it was almost 10 AM already.

Immediately I get up to fetch myself some coffee. I usually drink tea, but I'm still drain after yesterday and I'm afraid this is going to be another long day.

Besides, I've never been a morning person.

After a while roaming around in my little kitchen, I had to admit I have no coffee at all.

Sigh.

Well is seems I'll have by some coffee stand this time.

Not that is big deal, I need something to eat either.

Timeskip

When I get to HQ, I ran to our office.

I thought Lee will be already there, making fun of me becouse I came late, but non of this happened.

Office is empty, files still on the same place like last night.

This is weird. Lee may be not emploee of the mont material, but he's a spirits damn morning person, which sometimes piss me off by the way, and always in work perfectly on time.

With this thought, I went back to reception.

"Good morning Sachi." I greeted. She's realy great person and not so bad looking either, not sure if she's single though.

"Ah, good morning Lieutenant (Y/N), what can I do for you." She beamed at me.

"Well, I need to know if Lee is already here."

She frowned a bit before answering.

"No, I don't think Lieutenant Lee is here. Chief Beifong was looking for him as well as you."

Oh no, spirits protect me.

"What did she say?"

"She said she uderstand that you are late, but wanted to see both of you in her office as soon as you can get there."

Looks like a big problem. This is only getting better and better.

"Thanks Sachi. And call me just (Y/N)."

"As you wish Lieut- I-I mean (Y/N)."

I couldn't help but laught at this, but gave her a nod as I walk away, on my way to Chief's office.

This is going to be interesting.

I sighed, knocked and step in. Inside was Chief as well as Commander.

Great.

"Chief Beifong, Lieutenant (Y/N), I heard you wanted talk to me."

I announced myself with salute.

"Ah, Lieutenant it's good to see you, do you have any idea where Lieutenant Lee currently is? He is supposed to report as well."

I frowned slightly.

Even Chief don't know where Lee is. What in the spirit world is going on here?

"No, he didn't come to work yet. I thought you may have a better idea."

Chief shakes her head.

"No, I have not. Besides, I need talk to you about more pressing matter. Commander."

She looked at Saikhan, who nod.

"Yes, Egualists escaped."

I felt like all my blood froze and my heart stopped beating.
