Your POV:
"That's it?"
Raiko asked sceptically.
"That is irresponsible at best, maybe I should crazy."
Silence.
"Listen to me. This is first, and probably last, time we know where Amon will be-"
"Absolutely not. There have to be another way."
"But there isn't!"
"Calm your horses boy, remember who are you talking to. Our priority is safety of citizens of Republic City."
I couldn't hold myself back anymore.
"Yet you are listening to terrorist! Instead of showing courage you are cowering in fear, all becouse of a madman!"
Tezin then spoke up.
"I understand you are upset Lieutenant, but we can't put all those people lives in danger. Sadly, citizens are already devided becouse of Equalists."
Silence fell upon us. Heavy, unconfortable silence. I spoke in small voice.
"When Avatar Aang and Firelord Zuko founded Republic City, it was supposed to be beacon of hope for everyone. A place where people could find shelter, no matter who they were."
I took a deep breath.
"But it isn't reality. I know what reality is, discriminated because of my bending. And I know for sure I am not alone."
I looked up, now looking President dead in the eyes.
"That's why we should let Pro-Bending Tournament take place. Not only to show Amon he can't scare us so easily, but for show itself. There is not many places where Benders and Nonbenders can meet-"
I gestured around myself.
"-but Pro-Bending Arena is one of them."
Another brief moment of silence.
"I know it's dangerous, I've never said it isn't, but it's our best shot."
I looked over all present.
"But even if you wouldn't support it, I will find a way how to bring Amon down. I promised it. And I don't plan on breaking that promise."
I looked down on stone floor.
"I'm asking for help, but if I have to, I will do it alone."
Without another world I turned around and began walking away.
I don't know what I was thinking?
Convince President something so reckless?
Impossible.
Stupid.
I was just few steps from doors, when I heard sentence I would never hear.
"I am in."
Lin Beifong.
I turned my head back to look at Chief.
"Chief Beifong?"
Raiko looked shocked.
"Is this plan unconventional? Yes, it is.
But is something more. It's brave and I trust it."
"Chief, you can't be serious."
"I am. Becouse it's coming from my man. And if I couldn't trust my men, than noone."
Raiko frowned.
"So you agree."
Chief smirked.
