Chapter 6 - Promotion

Your POV:

I woke up lightly after 6 AM. That means I have plenty of time, but I definitely don't want to be late.

I stretcha bit, had a shower, grab my breakfast and went to HQ.

I arrived, and I'm sure, at 6:58.

Immediately, friendly receptionist greeted me.

"Good morning, Officer (Y/N), Chief awaits you in her office." She said

This is going to be either good or bad.

"Good morning to you too, and thanks, I'll go to her right away."

She nodded in respond.

As I went thru station, some of my coworkers I don't even know looked at me weird.

Just when I was about to knock on Chief office's door, familiar voice stopped me.

"I hope you don't intend to do this without me." Lee ironicaly asked

"Hey Lee. Trust me, I don't want to do this, at all." I answered.

"I know, but we better do this as soon as possible, we still have work to do." He smirked

"Yeah, let's go", with that I knocked at door and entered.

Inside was Chief Beifong together with Commander Saikhan, who looked like he wanted to rip our heads off.

"Good morning officers, please take a seat." Chief getured to two chairs before her table, same chair I sat in two days back.

We sat down and Chief spoke

"That's all Commander, you may go now."

"Yes Ma'am." Saikhan responded

While walking out, he gave us one last  angry gaze.

"As I said, your acts from two days back were inspected."

I gulp hard.

"However, investigating didn't show any doubts, quite the opposite. According to witnesses, both of you did well and even when Commandant Saikhan don't agree with me, I decided to promote you as Lieutenants." She said with smile in the end.

I just looked at Lee surprised.

"That will be all. Today's orders are on desk in Lee's office, for now you will have same. Dismissed."

"Yes Ma'am"

After we left office, I couldn't help but laugh.

"Wow, my second day as cop and I'm already promoted."

"Yes, but don't forget you're working with me. I bet we'll be Officers again in no time." Lee laugh as well

Then it hits me

"Where is you office by the way?"

"Let me show you" Lee chuckled
"Nice outfit by the way."

"Thanks."

"You're welcome. What are you think about your promotion?"

I was wondering same thing

"I don't know yet, it's still new to me. You know, second day at work and already a Lieutenant? It went quicker than I expected."

"Life doesn't alway go way we want him to go." Wow, where does it came from

"You're poet from now on?"

Lee just laugh instead of direct anwer

"Maybe, what if they'll fire me?" For a moment, there was awkward silence, till we arrived to the end of the hallway.
