Chapter 17: Nona

"It's...just a guy." Jonah smirked "oh really? Just a guy? That's the best excuse you can come up with?" Ugh, i can't escape this, might as well just admit it already.

"Okay fine, it's this guy i like, i mean i've known him for a few weeks but the guys nice and he's so sweet." I sighed "he asked me on a date,but i dunno if he actually likes me that way. So many pretty girls LOVE him to death, i'm just a freak with different colored eyes." Jonah frowned, "Rosie your eyes are beautiful, don't make it a flaw, embrace it, it's what makes you unique, your personality makes you who you are, not your looks, people will be stupid to not like you." Noah nodded, "Jonah's right Rosie, don't say that, you're probably one of the most beautiful girls i know, inside and out, and i'm not saying that just cause i'm your cousin. Besides he asked you out already, he definitely likes you." They smiled, i smiled back.

"Oh and don't forget you're super talented." Jonah added, which earned a chuckle from me, "Thanks guys, i'm just a lil insecure that's all." They both nodded with a huge grin on their faces.

Sebby walked in to the kitchen and tidied up the mess we made after we ate dinner, we thanked him and excused ourselves to get ready for bed. I went upstairs to my room to see a text message from Theo. I smiled.

Theo: so...about that date
Theo: are u free tomorrow?

Rose: My book is empty, what's on your mind?

Theo: it's a surprise ;)

Rose: looking forward to it ;)

I plop down my bed, giggling like a possessed hyena. After my whole life of living i'm finally tasting the small bits of teenage life. Which is dating. The idea of dating is surreal to me. I've never loved anyone besides my family and Ale, but i consider her family. I can't make a statement that i love Theo either, i just met the guy, i can't be quick to assume my feelings. I'll just have to trust myself on this small intimate journey.

Really all of this teenage thing, it involves so many emotions, it's scary how i see so many people get consumed by love. It's delicate, but deadly. I can't say if i'm excited or scared. I fear that one day maybe love will be the one that's going to ruin me, and i can't blame anyone because it's my fault for letting love take over me.

My train of thoughts were cut off by a knock on the door, i get off my bed and opened the door to see Jonah, he was shirtless, his body is glistening indicating he just took a hot shower, a towel is draped around his neck. I must say he is really fit, he used to be so scrawny back then, but then again he does boxing so i'm not surprised.

"Wow you look like a wet dog Jonah." He rolled his eyes, "Puh-lease, you know i'm fucking gorgeous." I would say that, but you're my cousin, my duty is to insult you. He just chuckled and went in my room. "Your room didn't change much, but i see your closet is filled with designers." He went into my walk in closet to see the array of clothing and accessories, a rack of shoes, bags, and a large vanity table filled with make up and makeup tools.

"Gotta admit, this is every teenage girls dream closet." I chuckled, he's not wrong about that. Jonah picked up a necklace, the one that my nona gave to me before she passed, it was rose gold with a circle pendant, a rose is engraved on the front, and in the back was engraved a famous italian saying.

"L'amore vince sempre." which translate to, "Love conquers all."

Again with this love thing, my nona was a hopeless romantic she loved the idea of love, the idea of putting someone else first besides yourself. She was full of love, all of her children loves her, all of her family loves her, my pappy who is still alive, loves her. Which reminds me i should visit him soon in italy, he's probably doing the craziest things right now. Till this day, my pappy still likes to go on hikes, diving, anything involving extreme, but every other day i know he still brings nona her favorite flower to her gravestone, and yes, you guessed it. Roses.
