I miss the days of carefree innocence.
The days we could love without loss,
Hope and dream without ridicule.
I miss the days when I could smile without question or hesitation.
The laughter dancing in every room.
I miss the feeling when everything was always exciting and new.
The late nights staring at the moon,
Talking to her as if she was someone I knew.
I miss dancing in the rain, and swaying to the drum of its thunder in the spotlight of lightning.
Yet nothing sparked childlike innocence and excitement quite like you;
You made me remember the beauty of dancing in the rain
And maybe when I was talking to the moon I was actually talking to you.
And nothing ever beat talking to you.
Hearing your sing song voice and the way it soothes.
I will never miss something ever quite like I've missed you.
