You got this Olly. I tried telling myself. Today won't be bad. It's gonna be a good day today. New hose new school new life.
I rolled over checking my phone for the time. 1:30 a.m. wonderful. I rolled my eyes turning over to try and sleep a little more. My eyes started to drift and it felt like I had just fallen asleep when my alarm went off to wake me for school.
Groggily I got out of bed my hair a disaster and no idea where I had placed my glasses. I searched my room blindly trying to find them. After stumbling for about 5 minutes I found that I had left them in my closet for some damned reason.
I gathered myself trying to look the best I could before heading out. I walked to school mainly because it was nice to have a break from everything early in the morning. I arrived at school and tried to take in everything.
"Hey sorry this is wired I know but I love your hair." A girl said coming from what seemed like nowhere.
"Oh thanks." I said with a soft smile.
"You're new here right?" She asked as she played with her hoodie strings.
"Uh yeah I am." I said awkwardly.
"You wanna come and chill with me and my friends till school actually starts?" she asked she seemed genuinely happy.
I wonder how that feels. To be happy. To have no problems.
"Sure that sounds nice." I responded.
Like that she pulled me away from the crowded commons room. She lead me to a staircase where a few other people were sitting seemingly enjoying the time they had.
"Sup fuckers." The girl said "This is some cool new kid I just met."
"Lit." one of her friends said as he kept his eyes on his phone.
"Well." she said "I'm Kayleigh Jax is the dude with the blue hair Allan is the redhead Micha is the one ignoring everyone and listing to music and Connor is obviously the only other person without a name."
"The other being me?" I asked.
"Yeah so what is your name?" Allan asked with a goofy smile.
"Uh I'm Olliver." I said with a small wave.
I'm not used to meeting this many new people at once. I like to make friends after we all have to sit and introduce ourselves. That way I can know people without talking to them. I know if I'll like another person. I know that sounds odd but I just don't do well with people.
"So what brought you to bridgeton?" Jax asked his eyes finally leaving his phone.
"Me and my mom uh moved because we just needed a change." I answered.
I could see Conner watching me from the back of the group. I would never guess these kids would be hanging out together. But that's highschool right? You get told one thing you're whole life. "HIgh school is built on stereotypes" but that is far from the truth. In high school it's a fend for yourself kind of thing.
The bell rang and their group automatically split all heading different directions. I went to try and find my locker not really sure where it was or were my first class was. After wondering the halls looking at all the locker numbers I finally found mine. I opened it throwing all the things I wasn't allowed to bring with me to class in before setting off to find my first class.
"Hey whatcha looking for?" Micha asked walking up behind me.
"Uh Steversons class." I said looking down at my schedule.
"Oh I'm headed there too follow me." She said hopping slightly as she walked.
I followed her. She was nice I guess. I mean nice for a cheerleader. We walked into class and I sat towards the back while MIcha made her way to a group of cheerleaders in the class.
