Insmonia - Alleyway

The current situation for Y/n and Iris had only gone from bad to worse, after blocking a strike from their aggressor and disarming him, the pair was now faced with a bigger problem. Their attacker was versed in the field of relevancy, the field of extracting and using magic as Y/n kept Iris behind him with his shield at the ready, the girl he was protecting was trying to piece together some form of a plan to help get them out of this predicament. Knowing that Cor was still preoccupied with his own fight, the young fox's eyes finally landed on the lone longsword laying on the ground near the entrance to the alleyway, tapping Y/n on the shoulder Iris jerked her head in the direction of the blade only to have the young boy dismiss the idea instantly.

"As much as I know you want to help Iris, one wrong move here and it's all over for us. Our best bet is to wait until he makes the next move, hopefully Cor will be able to help us out soon."

"And if he isn't Y/n? What then?"

"Then we think on our feet.

As Y/n and Iris kept thinking of potential plans to deal with their current predicament, their aggressor turned his attention towards that of Cor who was busy with his own counterpart and was proving to be at least on his own level in terms of combat which caused the young boy and fox faunus to worry slightly. Picking up on the direction of the children's attention the thug grew an amused grin as he juggled the flask in his hands.

"You know what, I wonder how you two would react seeing your protector burn to ashes in front of you."

Gritting his teeth and tightening his grip on the straps of his shield, Y/n rushed forward in a blind rage bringing his left leg around nailing the thug in the stomach knocking the wind out of him and proceeding to slam his shield into the thug's chest sending him stumbling back as Iris joined Y/n with longsword in hand.

"You want to get to Cor, you go through us."

"Defiant until the end. Your funeral kids."

Market District

As Squall made his way through the market district, the young tinkerer was deep in thought about what King Regis had said to him when he first ran into the new kid Y/n and about thinking the consequences his actions in terms of repeatedly trying to steal the parts he needs for his Gun-blade were having on Clyve. The last thing the Squall wanted to do was to ruin his Guardian's reputation among both the citizens of Insomnia and the Kingsglaive. As Squall continued on his way he bumped into his old friend Rinoa Hertlilly, even though Squall is normally of the lone wolf variety and can prove difficult to deal with, the young tinkerer is abnormally calm and open whenever Rinoa is around.

"Hey Squall. You alright over there? You're lost in thought again."

"Hey Rinoa, I guess. I'm just going over something that Regis said when he let me off for borrowing the parts I need to finish m Gun-blade."

"And by 'borrow' you mean steal from the Kingsglaive armory? Squall, you're going to end up in prison sooner or later. Why not just ask Clyve if he can get you the parts you need?"

"It's not that simple Rinoa. Clyve doesn't want me to go around making weapons in our own backyard, he thinks that something will go wrong or that the Niffs will get their grubby paws on anything I make, but I just want to feel like I've accomplished something meaningful. You get me?"

"Ever the big dreamer. Hey, tell you what, if we can convince Clyve to get you the materials you need then we'll get lunch sometime. Sound good?"

"Yeah, hey mind if I bring someone else along? He's new here and he doesn't exactly know anyone aside from myself, Cor and the King."
