Chapter 8: Altissia

Beacom Academy - Foyer

While Y/n was off doing who knows what, Noctis and his retinue were scoping Beacon out in an attempt to locate the Fall Maiden but had been met with roadblocks and disruptions at nearly every turn, no doubt Ozpin had started to grow wary of the four and had assigned team RWBY to keep an eye on them, as Noct was staring off into space, Prompto snapped a photo of his friend the flash bringing Noct out of his thoughts.

"Whatcha thinking about there Noct?"

"Just what Y/n is up to. Cor said that he'd be leaving for Altissia in a few days, something about going after the Hydrean."

"Waitwaitwait, you mean the strongest of the Hexathion!? Is he nuts!?"

"Iris, Squall and Rinoa are with him. So I believe the correct terminology that you're looking for is 'are they nuts.' and quite frankly Prompto, I have a feeling you may be right but Y/n's headstrong he won't let anything happen to those three. Not if he has anything to say about it."

"Well, if you're so sure Noct. We'd better catch up with Ignis and Gladdio, I mean we still need to find the Fall Maiden but with Ozpin assigning team RWBY to keep tabs on us it's been getting increasingly difficult."

"Yeah, I hear ya Prompto but we need to keep trying. I'll get in touch with Cor tomorrow and find out how far off Y/n is from finding the Hydrean. In the meantime we keep our noses out of trouble."

Bridge to Altissia

Having stopped off in Galdin Quay two weeks prior, Y/n and his companions had reached the last leg of the journey to Altissia and the much awaited respite before beginning the search for the Hydrean within Altissia's waters. As the salty air graced the groups' lungs, Y/n turned his attention to the horizon and the crystal blue sea beneath the bridge while Rinoa, Squall and Iris were in complete awe of the encroaching island city.

"So what do you think Noct and the others are up to Y/n? You think they've found the Fall Maiden yet?"

"I don't know Iris, we haven't had any contact with them since before they left for Beacon, but Cor did call earlier and mentioned that he'd get in touch as soon as he heard anything."

"I still can't believe that we've made it to Altissia. Who'd have thought that a group of four ragtag teens would go off on an adventure like this."

"Yeah, this time seven years ago I was a Blacksmith's Apprentice and now I'm traveling across Remnant in search of the six."

"Uh Y/n, quick question."

"What's up Iris?"

"How will we know when we find the Hydrean? I mean do you have something that'll tell us when we're close?"

As the distance to the island city closed, the young warrior adorned a small smile as the group had finally reached their destination.

"How about we set ourselves up with accommodation first, then we discuss our next move. We're almost there you guys."

"ALRIGHT! ALTISSIA MAKE WAY FOR US!"

As Squall made his announcement, the remaining travellers couldn't help but laugh as Y/n pulled the car into the parking area outside the immigration center. Much to the annoyance of the group, but since the empire annexed Altissia it imposed their customs upon the Altissian government thus ramping up the strictness of their immigration laws.

"I still can't believe we need to go through immigration. We literally came down the only bridge from Lucis to Altissia and we have to be treated as immigrants. No doubt Faunus have it rough here as well."
