Altissia - Leonis Residence - 5 days later

Having been in Altissia for close to a week, the closest that Y/n had come to finding the location of the Hydrean ended up leading himself and his companions on nothing more than a wild goose chase. The young Warrior was with Weskham in preparation for the young Warrior's return to Lucis with defeat weighing heavily on his shoulders in light of the ever evasive Hydrean as the two men conversed the grizzled Cafe owner pushed a plate of Maggho Lasagne in front of his disappointed acquaintance prompting Y/n to look at the meal in front of him before turning his attention to a smiling Weskham.

"Eat up kiddo. You'll need your strength if you're going up against the Hydrean."

"What's the point Weskham. Every lead I get ends up being nothing more than a dead end. Besides we're supposed to be in Vale for the Vytal festival by early next week, we can't stay any longer. I failed Cor, some champion I am."

Feeling sorry for the young man before him, Weskham placed a consoling hand on Y/n's shoulder as his acquaintance slowly began to dig into the meal the Cafe owner generously prepared for him. As Y/n slowly consumed his meal, his scroll started vibrating in his pocket prompting the young warrior to pull the item out and see Squall was calling him.

"Squall, what's up?"

"Y/n! Thank the six, is Iris with you?"

"Uh no, she wanted to sleep in this morning. What's wrong?"

"The room's been trashed, Rinoa and I are with Altissian authorities trying to figure out what happened and Iris is nowhere to be found."

Hearing that Iris was missing, Y/n nearly choked on his food knowing that failing to keep Iris safe would most likely come back to haunt him if Gladiolus ever found out that something happened to his younger sister. Shooting up from his seat, Weskham gave the young warrior a concerned look as he put his scroll back in his pocket and turned to face the Cafe owner.

"I gotta go Weskham, Iris is missing and I gotta find her."

"Then what are you standing around here for? Go!"

Not wasting a second, Y/n bolted from Maggho's like a bat out of hell as his scroll went off in his pocket again. Seeing Iris' name on the screen the young warrior instinctively answered the call hoping to hear Iris' voice and that she was alright.

"Iris! Where are you!?"

"You really think you could keep her from us human? We always get what we want, one way or another. I hope you said your goodbyes because you won't be seeing your precious Iris again."

"Son of a bitch! I'll hunt you down if you so much as harm a hair on her head! You hear me!"

"Goodbye, Mr. Caelum."

As the line went dead Y/n's eyes widened as the faunus on the other end knew his actual identity which sent off alarm bells in the young Warrior's head. Dialling Rinoa, Y/n wasn't wasting any time and proceeded to resume bolting through the streets of Altissia in a desperate search for Iris. As Rinoa picked up the young Mage barely got a word in as Y/n bombarded her with information.

"Rinoa, we're in trouble, whoever has Iris is connected to the White Fang. No questions asked even called me 'human' and by my actual name!"

"We need to find Iris, and fast! Where are you?"

"Heading for main street, are you and Squall almost with the Authorities yet?"

"Almost, we'll meet you at main street when we can. We'll find Iris, Y/n, don't worry about-"
