I padded along the beach, the small waved crashing against the shore. The moonlight turned the water to the colour of stone, and the prints that my paws left in the sand were quickly washed away.

What had happened to us? Why were we here? Okay, I think I knew the answer to that already; we were here to 'experience someone else's tale'. More specifically, Hiccup's tale. That fortune cookie had taken us to this place, and I didn't know why or how.

We were in a world were dragons flew through the skies, and Vikings roamed the seas. We were in a world that was supposed to be made up.

Did that mean we were made up?

Were we just figments of someone else's imagination? Was everything we did recorded and written down somewhere in a book?

I shook my ears and barked a laugh. Nah, that was impossible.

So, what were we supposed to do now?

I sunk back into my thoughtful stupor, paying no attention at all where my paws carried me. The wind whistled in my ears, and it felt like an age until I was finally brought back to reality.

WHAM!

I fell backwards with a startled yelp onto my backside and shook my dazed head. What in this world was THAT?!

That turned out to be a massive dragon, about the size of Hookfang. It had sea-green scales with tinges of blue, and a large, rounded mouth like a golf club. It had fin-like spines all along it's back that were a dark green with dark blue at the tips. It had flat paws like a bear, with four claws like toes.

It's eyes were closed, and it had long, thin pixie ears. On the bottom of it's chin were what looked like thick whiskers with bulbs on the end that glowed a faint emerald and crackled with electricity.

It's massive, green wings were folded to it's side as it lay sprawled out on the sand, making snoring noises that I couldn't believe I hadn't hear before.

Slowly, I tried to back away, every hair on my coat tingling with fear. I could smell my own fear-scent, and wondered vaguely whether dragons could smell it too.

No such luck.

The dragon's eyes shot open - they were golden in colour - and it took a moment for the beast to realize I was there.

But when it did, I froze instantly, feeling my tail quiver with absolute fear.

A Shockjaw, I thought, backing away again.

The sea-dragon shook it's head and blinked a few more times, it's slitted eyes locking on me. I flattened my ears slowly as it rose to it's full height, standing up on it's hind legs.

It flared it's wings out and opened it's mouth in a terrifying roar.

Well, this is great, I thought.
