I wake up the next morning feeling like shit. Why? Because Matt has been on my mind all night. He even popped up in my dream. What bothers me is, how yesterday when I so happendly walked in on the makeout, he didn't even say anything. He just stood there like a fucking idiot! In this situation, i'm the fucking idiot, but we'll overlook that & move on. Anyways, I can't stay mad at Matt so, I still like him, more than a friend, but will just be friends with him & stay out of the way relationship wise. No matter how much I like Matt, i'd never stand in the way of him & Val. Only becuase, I wouldn't want anyone to do that to me if I was in the situation.
Yeah, it's going to be pretty awkward between Matt & I. He was the one who welcomed me to the family, but only time will alter our vision. ( see what I did there? ;) ) My thoughts get inturrupted by a loud knock on my door. I quickly pretend to be sleep. I hear the door open & close, then footseps walking over towards me.
"Patrice, I know you're awake, so stop faking. I need to talk to you." I hear Matt say.
I sit up & stare at Matt.
"What is there to talk about?" I ask.
"Last night." Matt says.
"Listen, you don't need to explain. You still have feelings for Val, I get that. I'll back off."
"No, that's not I was trying to say. What I was trying to say was-"
"-Matt, I understand. It's okay. I'm over it, We can move on now."
"Stop interrupting me & hear me out, alright? You may try to cover it up, but I know you're hurt by what happened. I'm sorry."
"THE LIES." I joke, apparently Matt doesn't get the joke because he has a serious facial expression.
"I really am sorry, Patrice."
"You said that already."
Matt laughs . I cheer with enthusiasm. He looks at me like i'm an ididot.
"I just wanted to see you smile. Being serious is so...ugh." I say fake shivering.
"So you forgive me?" Matt asks sincerly.
"That couldn't have been any more obvious.." I say.
Matt rolls his eyes at me playfully. I throw a pillow at his head. He glares at me fakely.
"What was that for?"
" 'Waking me up' " I say.
"You still hanging with Val today?" Matt asks.
"Nothing better to do." I say shrugging.
"Well, I guess." Matt says.
I roll my eyes at him, he raises his hands in defense.
"Oh, um, if Asher asks, we 'broke up' okay?" I ask. Matt nods & leaves the room. So either I'm going to have a new friend today, or a new enemy....
******Matt's P.O.V.*******
I walk out of Patrice's room relieved. That went better than I expected. I thouf=ght she was going to ignore me & move out. Maybe a little overboard, but you never know what can happen. I walk back to my room to see Val awake. I sit on the bed.
"Did you tell her?" Val asks.
Shit! I forgot. Patrice was sleep talking loudly last night. Val & I went to see if she was okay & Patruice kept saying "But Matt, I love you." over & over again in her sleep for atleast an hour. I was supposed to tell her, but I forgot, so maybe it'll remain a secret..?
