Peter's POV
Bright white lights blind my vision as I felt myself regain consciousness. I feel the life flowing back to my limbs and the feeling regaining in my hands, and it was painful. My body was aching, I feel like I've been hit by a car. That's when I realized that I wasn't at home in my bed waking up from a hangover, no, that already happened. I could hear the faint sound of a continuous beeping, I could hear the distinct chatter of voices and the place reeked of disinfectant. What am I doing in a hospital?
"Peter?" I heard her say, her voice was soft and tentative, almost as if she thought that her making a sound would hurt me.
"Dae?" I whispered, it sounded so much like her.
I tried to turn my head to face her and I eventually succeeded with a bit of a struggle. Her blurry figure slowly became clear as she stared at me with a worried look gracing her features. It was not Dae, it was Rain.
"It's Rain, how are you feeling?" She asked me.
"Like I was hit by a car, died, and then brought back to life only to be run over by a bus." I replied and smiled, but painfully. "What happened to me anyway."
"Well that's one way to put it. Oh um well, you remember yesterday I came to your house and you were telling me about how whenever you remembered moments from the club, it would hurt? And then you went to get something and I think you tripped and fell or fainted because when I got to you, you were on the floor and blacked out. So I called Aiden and we took you to the hospital." She told me.
"Aiden, is here?" I said and furrowed my brows, I didn't see him?
"Yeah, I'm right here, you gave us a hell of a scare there you asshole," He said and grinned. "The doctor said that you had alcohol poisoning. How much did you drink last night Peter?"
"Uh, like five bottles of tequila and a bottle of whiskey from what I can remember." I told him with a sheepish smile on my face.
"Oh fuck, how did the bartender even give you that much? I need to have a word with him." He said and frowned.
I shrugged and retired to staring at the door, I felt like the living dead.
"Well bud, I have to get going, I'll see you later okay?" Aiden said, I nodded and he left.
"Rain?" I called.
"Yeah Peter?" She asked back.
"Thank you for staying with me, you really shouldn't have but thank you. It means a lot to me." I said and gave her a genuine smile.
She smiled back at me and then laughed, "Isn't that what friends are for?"
I gave her a sleepy grin and then fell asleep, the events of the past few days were really taking a toll on my body.
Dae's POV
I was flicking through the channels when my phone started ringing. I picked it up and answered the call without checking the caller ID.
—
"Hello?" I said as I brought the phone to my ear.
"Dae, it's Jackson. I - "
"Jackson! Hey, what's up?"
"Dae, I think you should check the news...or any social media platform, there's something there I think you'll want to see."
"Uh okay, I guess I'll do that. Thanks Jackson! Bye."
"Bye."
