Jackson's brows dipped down in curiosity while he watched Genevieve gather the few things she had. It wasn't long ago that one of the Nurses had processed her discharge, and since then he couldn't help but notice that she was acting strange.
At first, he figured it was merely the nerves of finally being able to leave, but after a few simple questions to himself he shrugged off that thought.
That wasn't the problem . . .
His sights didn't waver away from her. He studied her, picking through the possibilities in his mind for what could be troubling her, until he finally vocalized his concerns.
"You're being—weird," he told her, crossing his arms over his chest when he leaned against the wall. His gaze narrowed slightly while he spoke as if to reinforce his suspicions and elicit a response. However, Genevieve's reply wasn't what he hoped for.
She scoffed, furrowing her brows down. She chose to avoid his gaze and didn't bother to look his way. Instead, she continued to gather her things despite the interruption. "What!" she murmured in awe, voicing her disagreements—and surprise for that matter.
