The day I first met you

You told me you'd never fall in love

She's on her way to school, holding a couple of books on one hand and a project that needs to be submitted on the other. She cursed under her breath, struggling to carry everything at once.

"Panget, tulungan na kita." Kinuha ng lalaking kasunod nya ang librong kanyang dala. "Morning, panget."

Once her hand is free from the books she's carrying, mahina nya itong hinampas at sabay sabing, "Panget ka dyan! Ikaw kaya ang panget."

"Pssh. Sa gwapo kong ito? Please naman, Wensh."

"Jeric, nararamdaman mo ba yun?"

"Yung pagmamahal mo para sakin?" Smirking, nilapit ni Jeric ang mukha nya kay Wensh. She blushed.

"Tanga! Yung hangin! Masyadong malakas kasi nandito ka na naman."

But now that I get you

I know fear is what it really was

"Nakadalawang hampas ka na ngayon umaga ha." He told her as they both continued walking. "But it's okay. Alam kong yun lang ang way mo para iparamdam sakin ang pagmamahal mo." He winked at her.

"Wow naman talaga, Jeric! What's wrong with you today?"

"Wala naman. Alam ko lang na love mo ko."

"I don't love you that way, baliw."

"Hayaan mo na. Okay lang sakin, best."

"O - okay lang sayo?" She suddenly shook her head about what she just said. "I mean ... I mean no! Hindi kita -"

"Okay lang talaga sakin." He assured, sabay akbay kay Wensh. "Basta ako never maiinlove ... sayo."

"Sakit mong magsalita ha." Wensh replied, pouting. Hindi nya alam kung bakit medyo nasaktan sya sa sinabi ng best friend.

"Ayoko kasing mawala ka."

Now here we are,

So close yet so far.

Haven't I passed the test?

"Wensh!" He pinched her nose, snapping her from her thoughts. "Lipad na naman ang utak mo. San ka na ba nakarating?"

She pursed her lips and shook her head. "Pagod lang ako. Ang daming kailangan ipasa bukas."

"Want me to help you?"

"Wag na. Baka busy ka."

"Gusto mo na ba bumalik sa dorm?"

"Ah ... no. Tinatamad pa kong gumawa ng requirements."

When will you realize,

So they sat there for another hour or two. He was talking about the new girl he's courting and she's not sure whether she just can't focus, not interested or she just loved ignoring him.

"Best, ang ganda talaga nya ..." He said with a dreamy voice. Hinawakan nya ang kamay ni Wensh at pinisil na sobrang gigil na gigil. "Mababaliw na yata ako."
