Merida's pov:
Detention was finally over, I didn't think I could stand anymore of Ms. Gothel's stories or Astrid creepy up on me. At least I was lucky to meet one good friend, Elsa and I walked out on the front of the school talking about me joining the dance fight team.
Elsa: "We've never made it past the first round of the scholastic dance fight. You could be our answered prayer."
Merida: "I'm gonna focus on my studies this semester and help my mom get the new house organized. Maybe next year."
I saw a sad look on Elsa's face, I felt bad for her so I decided to change the subject "What do you know about Hiccup Haddock?" I asked.
Elsa: "Hiccup? I wouldn't consider myself an expert on that particular person. However, unless you speak cheerleader, as in..." (Walks up to cheerleaders, mocking their type of speech) "Oh, my gosh! Isn't Hiccup Haddock just the hottie super bomb?"
(Cheerleaders, giggle and sigh)
Elsa: "See what I mean?"
Merida: "I guess I wouldn't know how to speak cheerleader."
Elsa: "Which is why we exist in an alternate universe to Hiccup the dragon boy."
Merida: "Have you tried to get to know him?"
Elsa: "Watch how it works in the cafeteria tomorrow when you have lunch with us. Unless you'd rather sit with the cheerleaders and discuss the importance of firm nail beds."
Merida: "My nail beds are history."
Elsa: "Mine too!"

Hiccup's pov:
I didn't know which part was worse, getting me and Jack in detention or almost suffering the wraith of my dad. But the day was finally over and you think I would have nothing to worry about right? Wrong! I had to do more training with my dad muttering about the "detention incident."
Stoick: "I just don't understand this whole detention thing. "
Hiccup: "It was my fault. Sorry, Dad."
Stoick: "You know, Gothel will take any opportunity to bust my chops. That includes yours, too."
Hiccup: "Hey, dad? Did you ever think about trying something new but were afraid of what your friends might think?"
Stoick: "You mean like switching dragons? Your doing fine with the one you already have."
Hiccup: "Well, no. I meant, what if you want to try something really new, and it's a total disaster and all your friends laugh at you?"
Stoick: "Well, then, maybe they're not really your friends, and that was my whole point about team today. You guys gotta look out for each other, and you're the leader."\\
Hiccup: "Dad, I'm not talking--" (Cuts off by his dad)
Stoick: There's gonna be college scouts at our race next week, Hiccup. Know what a scholarship is worth these days?"
Hiccup: "A lot."
Stoick: "Now, you need to focus Hiccup. Come on."
Once we finished our father-son talk, we went back to practice. I know my dad knows what's best for me but sometimes I wonder if maybe I can be more than the star dragon racer. So it is settle, tomorrow I'm going to sneak away from practice and try out for the winter musical.
