JUNHEE'S POV
As promise to my kid, I'm taking her to the Kids Land a small amusement park in Seoul. After we went to pick up Chan at his apartment, we left for my little girl to have fun.
We are blessed with a sunny and warm weather so is a good day to go out.
"Now no running off, you must stay close" I call out the kid
"But dad I'm here" Eunkyung says as her tiny hand holds mine
"No I meant him" and see as Chan runs off like a puppy chasing some pigeons on the road. He doesn't care for my warning because I see him impatiently waiting for us at the entrance
"Come on Euny.!!" And she looks up to me and I just nod and off she goes to run after Chan.
I pay our entrances and ask my tiny girl where she wants to go first
"Let's go on the flying swings.!!" Chan exclaims loudly
"I asked my daughter" I say with a smile and Chan just pouts
"Is ok daddy, I want to play there with Chan oppa" and she smiles my way and I just nod.
So Chan ends up going up there with her, and I am left watching the backpacks in a bench shadowed by a tall tree
"Hi" I hear a voice close to me, but I decide to just ignore it and watch my little girl as she keeps laughing as Chan screams at this kid's game.
Cute.
"Hi..." again the same voice and I turn to my right and I see a man smiling my way, he does looks familiar, "hello, how are you?" He asks me and I am a bit startle
"....I'm great, and you.??" I ask a bit hesitant since I've never have try talking to strangers in a kid's park
"I'm glad, same I'm fine....I know is a bit strange but I saw you before at the Lee Firm" he says and now I've realized it, he's that man that kept staring at me and Chan back in the office
"Yes...I think I remember you" I say just then the game is over and I see Chan holding Eunkyung's hand walking my way
"Daddy.!! That game is fun...come play with me" she says and starts pulling my hand
"Is she your daughter?" He asks and I nod.
Just then Chan steps in front of us and starts analyzing the man's face
"Um....yes" the stranger asks
"You're the creepy handsome man from the office" he snaps his fingers and smiles, but covers Eunkyung with his body
"Chan....don't say weird things" I say and Eunkyung just giggles
"Sorry if I came around as creepy....is just that you look so familiar....are you and idol or actor?" He asks me and Chan is a bit surprise to hear this, and my face might have shown the shock expression also coming from his question
"Um.....no, I am just an accountant at that firm" I say and he just nods, "well we're off" and I start to walk away from this man
"Bye....can I at least get your name?" He asks me and Chan just starts laughing lightly
"You player" Chan says and starts walking along Eun
".......Jun" I say
"Nice to meet you....I'm Donghun" he says and just waves at us. Just then I see there's a big professional camera hanging from his neck. Just then a family appears and he turns around to talk to them
"Let's go" Chan calls out and I nod.
The day at the park goes great, my little girl enjoys all the games, age appropriate for her, and I get on a few with her. My feet start to hurt a bit from all the walking, I took turns with Chan to carry Eun on our backs.
"Ok Eunkyung, we'll watch from this bench...go and make new friends" I say and she starts running towards the pool of plastic balls and cushion maze
There's a lot of families here and many kids can hold both of their parent's hands. I sigh. If only my kid didn't have to experience a divorced family so young. Maybe this is the reason my father could never forgive me. He wanted something different for me, he also raised me and my sisters alone
"What's on your mind?" Chan asks me as he hands me a cotton candy
"When did you buy this?" And he points at the stand just a meter away. I take a bite and let the sweet strawberry sugar melt in my tongue
"Chan...what's your family like?" I ask and he leans backwards
"Well my parents are living in Jeju and my brother is here living with his wife in Incheon so I visit ever so often....", he says I clean some candy from his mouth
"I see....you think is wrong that I couldn't keep a mom for my daughter?" I ask something weird out of the blue and Chan just looks at me a bit strange
"What do you mean?" He ask and I just shake my head, a 20 yrs old student doesn't need to hear my old man drama
"Never mind....come on we still need to ride the merry go round before the park closes" I say and I start to eat the cotton candy.
After riding the merry go round. With me holding Eun on a white pony and Chan riding on an elephant we head back home
"If you could just drop me off at Bupyeong station please" Chan asks me as he seats besides me on the passengers seat. My little girl is fast as sleep on the back, her battery ran out the minute she stepped into the car
"Going somewhere?" I ask
"Yes...meeting some friends from college to have some drinks, I would invite you but..." he says
"Yes no is fine...I'm too old the only drink I'll be having is some peach tea before going to bed" and he just giggles
"....oh and hyung" he says and I turn his way
"No one can keep someone...if it didn't work out it wasn't meant to be....but I think Eun looks happy...so single or marry what matters is that she keeps smiling" and I stop at a red light and turn his way. How can this kid that whined because he wanted to ride the elephant be this mature
"Thank you....you're right the most important thing is her smile" I say and I pinch his cheek before driving as the green light is turn on, "by the way thanks for coming and everything....Eun does like you a lot" and I smile at him
"Anytime....I love hanging out with you guys"
"Thanks buddy" I say and keep driving.
When that woman left me, many "friends" blamed me and left. So is good to have someone to call a friend.
"Chan if you ever need something please don't ever hesitate to look for me" I say and he just nods
"And if you ever want to invite me to dinner or lunch....I'm always available" he says and we both laugh
